And now what did you do TODAY?
Glad things went as well as they did Dusty....as Jews say about funerals, "May next time we see you be a mitzvah....". Hope family and friend bonds stay strong, and may they indeed be continued in good times....

Post Your Pet
Susie is a cutie for sure, that second pic truly defines "puppy dog eyes" And Al, I can't believe you've had Nitro almost 2 years, I still remember the "I'm going to get a Vizsla" posts..... And Quest certainly looks like Man's Best Friend.......

NAD VISO HP50
Haven't heard it in mine.....soundstage is pretty good for a closed phone, but don't hear any echo/reverb type of effects, and don't remember hearing them on first listens. Still liking the sound on these a lot, they have replaced the X-1's at work since they isolate better. Comfort is still not 100% for me, the clamping on the ears is a tiny bit uncomfy due to the shape of the drivers/pads on my head (not bad pressure, but combined with the fit on/over my ears, it's noticable but not horribly troublesome). I still listen for a couple hours at a time without any problems, though.

And now what did you do TODAY?
Holy crap, Ric. Glad to hear people are OK, and car damage hopefully minimal. But yeah, that scare, especially with kids in the car, will get the adrenaline pumping. I used to fucking hate those "Baby On Board" signs until we had my son. I still never put them on/in, but understood the concept a lot better. Wayne, sounds awesome, very good & creative planning; the kids should get a big kick out of it!

And now what did you do TODAY?
Off in a few to go to a Kosher Wine Tasting through our Temple's Brotherhood. Should be fun, and somewhat tasty.....

And now what did you do TODAY?
It'd be kind of gross, but go through the trash, see if there's any identifying info (thrown out mail for example), and the next night empty it on the lawn at that address. Was the bin outside? We have ours in the garage until it goes out for pickup..... Me: got my mother-in-law set up with Comcast today, her first day in her new apartment; also did a fair bit of arranging & additional unpacking. She's nervous as hell, has literally NEVER lived far outside of New York (and is 85). But she has space, a beautiful place, and has met two people already who invited her to afternoon tea or dinner. I really hope this is a sign of good things to come.

Tapers.
I'm with you Iain....I've been the a-hole with the camera held up high recording, as well as trying to look at the stage with one or more of those in my vision. It's for that specific reason that I don't do that anymore, or if I do I make sure it's short or as unobtrusive as possible.....

RIP Greystone, our cat
RIP Greystone, sorry for your family's loss Larry. Sounds like he had a decent extended life with lots of love for those two years.....

Florida Gathering 11/16/13 aka Geneapoloza
Ditto. Love all the pics, have a great time!

RIP someone or another
Still sad to see when someone falls like that, Dan....sorry to hear of someone so young wasted away. The irony of Morphine to cure a Heroin OD is not lost on me, if there was irony to have. And yes, I agree with your assessment of Mark's talents, but had no idea of his personality.

Ye Macce Threade
^^ d'oh! I was thinking PC, not Mac.....ignore my SW recommendation if needed......

Haj, I have a Memorex External USB 3.0 writer, unused; it's yours if you want it, PM me. I had two, thought I'd use both, but haven't. Mine works fine, though I don't use it daily..... Also, Ashampoo has a free studio app that supports Blu-Ray burning; not sure of movie playing, but I'm sure there are some out there. I use the free version at work, some ads but easy to ignore.

Happy Birthday to The Monkey!!
Very Happy Birthday Dinny! May this coming year be a joyous one with many things bad behind, and all things good ahead!

Finally found a headphone stand that is easy on the eyes and the wallet
Yup, they certainly do.... For solid but cheap, I have 3 small bathroom hand towel holders. Hold two phones each, each looks like a simple "T" with a base. They usually run under $20. I picked up two at TJ Maxx for $13 apiece, and one I think at Target, has the aged brown metal look, for perhaps $18.

NAD VISO HP50
Yup, but Lunchbox 2 has a hi/low impedance switch.....makes it sound better with more phones. The HP50 sounded pretty good out of it, save for the bass which seemed to sound a touch better with the Meridian. But even the low switch may still be too high for these.....

NAD VISO HP50
Don't think Carl has the HP50's, he was talking about the Fio X3 DAP (I partially derailed the thread with a note on that). I got mine at World Wide Stereo, first place online I found them in stock, took PayPal (I had a balance), and had free shipping. http://www.wwstereo.com/NAD-Electronics/Products/?category=Over-the-Ear-Headphones Just as an FYI, liking just about everything about the sound given that it's a closed phone. Still getting used to the feel, though.....
