I was at my mother's some time ago, and remembered that my stepfather (long since passed away) had some old liquor bottles in an armoir in her basement. I found several botttles of scotch and one cognac there. Was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on them. Worth bringing to a H-C meet? Literally, the only one I had ever heard of was Pinch....and the Ambassador is labelled the "lightest scotch in the world." The others are VAGUELY familiar, but most likely because I had seen them previously in the armoir. Please take a look, and any thoughts/opinions appreciated. Going to do some innernet searches as well...... Thanks! Todd.

Agreed with all the above. My ex-colleague had it worse, and she recovered basically 100%, you really don't know it if you met her. And it certainly IS great to have good knowledgable people here, anmd also that they care so much! It's part of what makes this place great!

Vicki, sorry to hear about your loss and troubles, but glad the family could get together as it could for the holiday. Wish you the best for you and your mom. Having lost family around holidays (Stepfather on Mother's Day, Grandfather right around Christmas), it seems to makes things that much more potent in our memories....I always try hard to remember the life, and not focus so much on the death.....balance.....

Very nice looking tree! Made it through the first Hanukkah party last night at my mother's....minimal food ingestion (even though all was delicious) thanks to a larger lunch and lack of hunger, and the whole family made it. Really nice time! Tonight, night 2 of family parties; my dad and stepmom are amazing cooks, so will likely not be able to resist temptation 2 nights in a row, and stuff myself.....

I liked it, very clever! I got to hear the Scintilla's once, what beasts they were..... It was at a store that pushed Macintosh equipment, but I don't remember if that was what was driving them. I did get to hear the Duetta's several times, definitely with Mac gear, and they were real nice..... I almost bit on the smaller Stage speakers, but didn't have the room for them. Those Apogee ribbons sounded so nice, though.....

Finally getting over my cold, went to work today and my VP calls me in. He presented me with a letter from the CFO and CAO/Legal Council, thanking me for participation in a recent high visibility project, and presenting me with a nice little bonus! Now, what gear to buy....?! What, dear.....oh.....yes.....of course I can put some more towards the Bar-Mitzvah

Yeah, pretty cool stuff. At first glance, it was tough to get an idea on proportions of the setup, but then you see the people in front, and you realize what went into it.... And great tree, too, Al, same with the others here. As "the Jew that likes the trees" I'm enjoying this. After telling my wife about this, she decided to give the Hanukkah bush another try. It's literally a few decorative branches in a large glass floor-standing vase, adorned with blue and silver ornament balls. And so far, the cats have left it alone....
