  1. I found the highs rolled on the O2s even with the BH. Did you notice? Nice impressions. I think stats in general resolve detail better than most dynamics aside from maybe the Qualias (haven't heard HD800). I just couldn't get into the O2s when I was dead set on getting them a couple of years back. I love hearing the technical stuff they offer. I am a fan but just not enough to add to the fold. I guess it's a preference thing. Even with speakers, stats just don't give me the long term pleasure, but technically, they are incredible for sure . K-1000s just have that magic that works for me. That emotional connection with minimal coloration aaawwww. We did a shoot out at Neil's house HE-90, K-1000, O2 and the K-1000, O2 were on the same level and depended on preference, but we all agreed the HE-90 was on a level all it's own when dialed in. That being said, the HE-90s had the same long term affect and are not my favorite phones. But technically they are the best phones I've heard. Glad you had fun, and yes, sitting back with speakers is takes things into a whole new stratosphere.
  2. Did a good job keeping this one under the radar.
  3. Guess the JH13s will have to wait. I wonder if I can sell my piss afterwards to recoup some of the cost
  4. My Chemical Romance -- Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge
  5. I'm just wondering how they made my cheap laptop speakers sound all audiophile with that soundtrack Video was very well done.
  6. ^ fixed I found a big jump in speed over v.3, and it's been stable for me so far.
  7. Ouch! Sorry to hear about that. I'd definitely take it as a sign - JH13s are calling
  8. X2 - seems to me like he was going overboard on purpose for fun.
  9. LOL too funny - can't wait for this page to be over with
  10. thanks - no worries at all. I'm glad things are good again. Sennheisser didn't do anything wrong. It's their job to market these like any company, and they've done that well. I have to take back my comment which was unfounded about that. It would be nit picking at best anyway. I think I've just reacted to the headfiers (only a few of them) that won't allow a negative comment, but who am I kidding. That happens with every headphone out there. So clearly I'm going to backpedal off this negative track. I've always felt that the HE-90 was on a teir all it's own from a technical standpoint and was a big fan of the HD600 which I owned for many years, so my posts haven't reflected the fact that I do very much like Sennheisser. So, now I'll STFU about what these are or not and stop coming off like an -
  11. I was basing it off Skylab giving a positive review but stating that it wasn't for him after all which was followed by many posts saying his system sucked or that he was biased, etc. He took a lot of flak gracefully. I'm definitely looking forward to the next meet... But, overall, you are right. I guess I have been raining on the parade, and It's not right and beneath me to do that. I have been negative unjustly especially having not heard them. I guess I wanted a counter balance to the hype. But I will STFU now because that's not how I want to be about headphones that people enjoy.
  12. This seems to be the case. I'll get to hear them at the next bay area meet in a couple of weeks. Headfi will not allow a negative comment without torches and pitchforks on these headphones, so it's best you keep negative impressions away from there.
  13. Thanks for the info! I enjoyed reading it
  14. Na, you can do the same here too. I thought headfi was where you had to be careful of stating how you really feel. Is it the same here? I don't favor Grado over Senn. I was just turned off by the marketing technique they used. Sennheisser overall is a good company, but the FR graph was a bit insulting.
  15. Yeah, total marketing - And insulting to intelligence. Not only does it not show the entire range (no reason to not measure it other than to hide something), but it smashes the vertical db scale to make it look very flat. The HD800 itself is interesting to me, but Sennheisser with it's superhyped up marketing totally turns me off with how they build it up. It reminds me of a woman that I'd be interested in until she tells me how wonderful she is and how she's the best thing out there to the point where I just can't stand her. Here's where I like how Grado just releases something then shuts up.
  16. Actually, it sounds more to me like their impressions of the HD800 Analytical phones and speakers to me are great to listen to at first, but as time goes on they get old, while the ones that connect me emotionally seem to never get old. There are not that many that get the emotional connection and technically nail it which is why I haven't changed my lineup and probably won't for awhile. That's my taste, though, I know some like to listen and analyze the sounds over getting into the music, and there's certainly nothing wrong with that. I tend settle on things that do both right.
  17. Packing up to go camping for the weekend
  18. I hope you are right. I guess I haven't noticed any of the discontinued phones going down at all other than a bit for the soft market.
  19. I don't understand why. From most impressions, it would seem the HD800 is like the 60 but better in some areas. In the long run, I'd imagine the HE-60s might be preferred by some. I know the newness of the 800s seem to have caused some to go overboard. Yes, I'm thinking out loud and not really making sense. My coffee hasn't kicked in yet. In a way, I hope you're right. I would like to see the non production cans hold their value regardless of the new stuff that comes out.
  20. ^ You can stop holding back now. It's pretty obvious that you are bursting at the seems
