  1. I've been wearing Arizonas for years. They are great when new, but terrible on my legs when they wear out. Unfortunately, that's about 4 months for me. So I'm trying something else this time. The Newport H2s feel very good so far. My only complaint is that the bottom of my feet sweat if it's hot. That's always going to be a problem with a foam rubber footbed.
  2. Tyll, the only rule here is "don't be an asshat". This kind of ass is OK.
  3. After trying on several brands and models from each, I decided that I liked the Keen sandals the best. Since I shopped locally and was helped in all the stores, I bought locally. If I really like them, next time I can shop online and save some money. Anyway, here's what I got: The color is called "madder brown". It's definitely a love it or hate it color.
  4. You're welcome. How do you find the fit of the Newports? Is the specified smaller, correct or larger than what you expect? I went .5 size higher. Should I have gone .5 lower?
  5. You're British, aren't you?
  6. I think they figure that if you can walk on water, you don't need a sale.
  7. I found a cheap Keen slider, if they have your size. REI is selling certain sizes and colors of Keen Arubas for an incredible price. My size is 9. They have 8.5 and 9.5. For the price, I figured I could take a chance on a 9.5. REI Keen Aruba sale
  8. I don't care much about PC vs Mac, but it would be great if they would do another commercial based on that emoticon.
  9. Close! Thanks.
  10. I just applied for two jobs at Sonos. My experience and skills are a good match and one of my references is a good friend with the HR manager, so I have a good chance of at least getting an interview. I applied via their web site. The last real question on the form was to enter your favorite musical performer or band.
  11. What I wore out were Birk Arizonas. I'll probably have them refurbished too.
  12. I was out trying various Teva, Merrill, Keen, Mephisto and other sandals. I liked the Keen sandals the best. So I'll probably buy a pair. Unfortunately, nobody has any Keen sliders to try. So I'll either go with the Newport H2 or Venice H2. The Venice appears to have more open uppers on the same soul. Has anybody tried the Venice? Jim?
  13. In California, it's illegal to drive wearing headphones or earplugs. The exception is it's legal to wear earplugs (and I would assume IEMs) if they are custom fit. This is true for driving both cars and motorcycles. I wear custom fit earplugs. However, I don't know of a single person who has gotten a ticket for wearing generic earplugs.
  14. Nice job Tyll. You should see John Chase's DRZ-400S. He didn't do anything for music. In place of that, he added several lights. You two would get along great. I'll introduce you if you ever get to SB. For motorcyclists, John is the "Chase" in Chase Harper. He hasn't been a part of Chase Harper for many years, though he remains close to Ron Harper and offers advice, etc. to him.
  15. We're too numerous to count.
  16. So true! Thank goodness though or I probably wouldn't have a pair of HP-2s.
  17. As bad as this is (and it's really bad), it's nothing like the $3 trillion Iraq bail out.
  18. Hatari on AMC. One of my favorite John Wayne flicks.
  19. Here's some interesting material and discussion about receptacles from Audiogon. Mostly it references other links. Hospital grade has mostly to do with how much force it takes to remove the plug and also that it won't spark when inserting or removing a plug. It probably has nothing to do with getting better sound quality. Hospital grade info
  20. FIFY
  21. Too subtle I think. Up to you. How many of us "guys" are you going to ban? Just me? That would be professional. Of course, you can just be like another moderator and come punch me out.
  22. Yes, us "guys" do that. We should all be banned from HF. Maybe you should start the process?
  23. I think conspire is the right word. Discussing our attacks and coordinating them is conspiring. I posted here that I thought the thread was way over the line and that I reported it. That was it. I think that it had a lot more to do with the fact that it was RSA and the problems about that between Jude and HC. I don't think anybody will complain. Let's see, you'll actually have the prototype. You'll talk about the prototype and how it sounds, looks, etc. What you won't do is make what amounts to a product announcement with specs, price, availability, etc. John did the latter. Of course, maybe you should. Justin could use the free advertising too.
  24. Several of us here got the same email from Jude after he decided that we "conspired" here to attack RSA. We didn't conspire and were attacking jamato8. This was in regards to his thread that basically announced the SR-71A. I figured if Jude didn't care if he wasn't getting revenue from RSA, then I didn't care. The story might be different if I was an MOT and had to pay for such a thread, but I'm not. Since then, I haven't bothered to report a problem on HF. I don't see any upside to it, either for me or for HF.
