Dusty Chalk

Well, haven't found anything on Spotify that I can't get on Tidal (the same things appear to be missing on both, with a couple of exceptions, all in Tidal's favor with one glaring exception -- Prokofiev complete piano music by frederic chiu, which has been on and off Spotify). Add to that the lossless compression, and I'm switching. Only thing is, I can't get Tidal at work, so I'll probably allow a month or two transition before I quit. Something I haven't checked yet -- is there a way to add local files to Tidal? I keep forgetting to check that when i'm at home.

Comcast -- out-lowering the bar on NewEgg customer service.

HDMI can handle some pretty good resolution displays with no problems (even my POS work laptop, the old one, could drive my 2560x1080 display, with no visible effort), so it's just a matter of the capabilities of the graphics card.

Wait, you're saying the pads and the fit matter that much?

But if you stare at the same spot on them for 99 seconds and then look at a white wall, that's what you see.

Comfort food. I have nothing but fond Head-Case memories of In'n'Out.

Yeah, that new Lunatic Soul is fantastic, his best yet. IQ's Road of Bones is excellent as well, if you're into straightahead prog rock. Grai are Russian folk metal, worth giving a listen. Here's their bandcamp if you want to stream/sample them first. I've got Russian in my blood, so I'm required by law to like it, YMMV.

Fiberglass insulation. Ethan Winer DIY design He's also got a forum somewhere, looking for it, will post when I find it. Oops, found it. Very helpful, gives away his designs and advice, builds them under his "RealTraps" moniker for people too lazy to do it themselves. Otherwise encourages people to do it themselves. My Facebook friend Stephen Hitch does similarly in the UK, he had a pretty cool idea to turn T-shirts into the front covers of the traps (you don't want to leave fiberglass insulation exposed).

I was talking in contrast to the Kauan album, I thought the Kauan album was new material -- it's reworkings as well? Grai, Mlada Kauan, Muistumia The Kauan link clarifies; the Grai one does not...actually, it looks like In the Arms of Mara is the compilation, and Mlada might be new material.

Ghost Brigade, IV: One with the Storm -- just plain metal, not particularly thrashy, no particular blastbeats, not overly simple, not overly complex, mostly growled vocals with some clean...I just really like their tone. In the Katatonia/Evergrey/Paradise Lost/etc. link

Completely Not Safe For Work (titties against shower door)

Yeah, that's a good point, you enter a track, you get more tracks like that track. If you enter all the tracks on an album, you don't get other albums back, you get tracks like those tracks, but it's better than nothing. I have to admit, the best I've found is "related artists", and you can get that from AMG, but not "albums" per se. I don't think I've seen that yet. Kickstarter? Do you remember genius on iTunes? Does anyone still use that?

Where are you again? I need to start taking notes for my visit to London/Scotland/Wales next year.

Because I'm not allowed to take the work home with me, which is understandable. I know I can trust me, but they don't, and I certainly wouldn't trust some of my co-workers.

Yeah, that's more like it, although I'd hope to audition it first, even at that price. No, I'm a Sony fan -- MDR-V6/-7506; CD3000; MDR-F1; even the MDR-R10 is top tier. Plus, black and closed. I'm hoping it compares to the CD3000. (I suppose I could just paint the CD3000's black or something.)

That's pretty cunty of them. You bought new, you should get new. There's no warranty on the thing?

Pandora doesn't do that for you, Ric?

Want. EDIT: (wanders off to look up price) US$700?!?!?!? Don't want.

(squints)

Thunder snow sounds bad.

Fuck yeah. The closest Belew came to me was Pennsylvania, and I almost went up for that, but I wasn't feeling completely well yet. (I do now, as of last Tuesday.)
