  1. Was it Baker Street? I thought it was RIght Down the Line, which is why I mentioned that one. Fixed. EDIT: Doh!
  2. A year?!? Yeezh. Me: I volunteered to -- and did -- transport 3 cats away from a shelter to a vet for a rescue organization. I guess I'm an honorary Fancy Cats Rescue Team member now.
  3. Raphael Ravenscroft, Saxophonist: Gerry Rafferty (City to City, esp. "Baker Street" ) Vangelis (Blade Runner's "Love Theme") PInk Floyd (The Final Cut) Mike Oldfield America Chris Rea Let's put it this way, I'd be surprised if you didn't know at least two songs of his work. AMG link
  4. I don't know, I usually like everything Les Claypool is associated with. Just not that one.
  5. Happy belated! (party favour noise)
  6. Finished Parasite -- probably my least favourite book she's written, because -- but I'll probably still continue to read that series, too, since I'm now over it already. Finished The Winter Long -- probably my most favourite book she's written, but I feel that way about every October Daye book when I'm reading it, I just love that series. Started the fifth book in the Night Watch series (Sergei Lukyanenko) and The Runestone Incident (Neve Maslakovic).
  7. regular schedule: Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Castle, Arrow, and Flash. Might have to subscribe to HBO for Game of Thrones when it starts; wish BBC America would give a subscription service (just for Doctor Who). randomly -- Louis C.K. various comedy bits on Netflix, Uganda be Kidding me (Chelsea Handler), Tim Minchin and the Heritage Orchestra complete and uncut Live at the Royal Albert Hall
  8. I'm not that many, I'm this many: (shows one cat's 4 paws) (shows other cat's 4 paws) (shows feet) (does mathses) (holds up one hand with all 5 fingers spread out)
  9. Thanks, everyone! You know what I got for my birthday? Sick. Yeah, I better not, I have a cold or the flu or ebola or something. Wouldn't want to expose my friends. Colin, let me know the next time you're in town, please. Jeff, I'll see you sometime.
  10. I don't know why, but I really hated that for some reason. I only listened to it once. Aye, me too, this is sublime. Their last album, 5, was gorgeous, but this is just superb. Need to go back and revisit everything by them (again). Doing that with Oceansize in the car. Goddamn, I love this band. The song, "An Old Friend of the Christies" is just ... (flips open Thesaurus, trying to think of a new word that I haven't just used) ...divine.
  11. You are apparently retarded tonight.
  12. Incorrect. You are not exempt. Fucking self-aggrandizing pompous douchenozzlewipe.
  13. Only because the search function never finds anything recent. And: dude -- context -- you just threatened us to do exactly that, so yes, it is crap, it is annoying crap, and fucking hypocritical. You are so fucking full of yourself.
  14. So you're saying if we stop crapping in your thread, you'll stop crapping in ours? It's a deal!
  15. Yup, first thing I thought of. Didn't want to set anyone off (or put anyone off their lunch, as it were), though, so didn't bring it up.
  16. I am the target market for that album cover -- purple, gold, death, space, fantasy...going to have to actually listen to it, now... EDIT: (starts listening, face melts)
  17. Pretty. Love that particular hue.
  18. Niche market within a niche market. So...not a lot.
  19. Happy birthday, Vicki! (party favour noise)
  20. But you see, that's when you need to come up with some colorful verbage about "colored" and "euphony" and whatnot. Also, "measurements be damned", sometimes.
  21. Holy shit, that looks good. The seared ahi actually got me salivatin'.
