I kinda got the impression from what I read that it's not intended to work without an iPhone ever. (As opposed to just "without an iPhone...once in a while".) As in, maybe one's required to activate the watch, etc. But no, don't know that for a fact.

Also, does anyone remember my quest for an ana-digi watch a long time ago (got over it) (basically, a watch face with hands and pips presented digitially) -- this is basically that. So kinda wouldn't mind a standalone version. An iPod Touch-lette, as it were.

I feel left out, it didn't automatically download for me. Wanted to whine about something...is it any good? In a How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb/All that You Can't Leave Behind way...?

Yeah, it said that it utilizes the phone's GPS and carrier for things like calls and GPS, so yes, you have to bring the phone when you run, and yes, that defeats the purpose. Alas. I'll wait 'til they figure out how to decouple it from the iPhone. For the applications I'm thinking of (musical, e.g. theremin-like controller based on distance and orientation from an iPad), don't mind it being tethered to an iOS device, just sorry it has to be only the iPhone. I will wait for it to be hacked...in 3...2...1...

I wonder if it will work with the iPod Touch or any other iOS device.

Are the iTouches following suit (following the iPhone)? I still need to get one. EDIT: Never mind, checked MacRumors' Buying Guide page, see it was just updated in June.

Yes, that is excellent, but if you're going to use head-fi as a reference, ... you do know they have a forum as well, right? Why not discuss it there? The Grace m903 is an excellent choice, by the way. And unholy carp, that chart! There's no way we would ever attempt anything like that, I don't think we have enough data points, much less active members willing to participate.
