  1. I wonder Jeff, reading what you're writing, if an exhaust wouldn't solve most of your issues. What I suspect is that the Audi is simply masking what is actually going on and not giving enough visceral feedback. And an exhaust shouldn't void a warranty. The S4 shouldn't need more power, period. In an ideal world they still would have been making it with the V8. I think that car may have suited you better.
  2. RIP
  3. The A4, especially with the S-Line package looks nearly as nice and costs a lot less. If speed is a must you can tune the Audi 2.0T to very respectable levels of power without much risk of damage. Most would argue that something in the low 200's doesn't require that but...
  4. Weird. It works totally fine on the iPad. But yes, it's Gmail and no, restarting the phone didn't help. Grr. Now seeing if deleting the account and re-adding it works as suggested by theGoogle.
  5. Ok, first real annoyance. Mail refuses to fetch new messages without opening the app. This was working fine but changed at some point last night or during the day today so I'm hoping a reboot will fix it. Still, not expecting this type of bugginess for a native Apple App and my iPad has (to the best of my recollection) never done this. I checked to make sure that Push is turned on and it is. That should be the only setting that matters, right?
  6. Wut? Sounds better, possibly, looks better? Not a chance. I saw two S4's this weekend and reminded my wife that at some point one will be parked in our driveway again. I'm actually trying to talk to an indie mechanic this week to get a feel for options for non-dealer service. Gotta plan ahead, doncha know.

  8. Thanks.
  9. Ok, help the idiot with the new iPhone figure out how to "swipe to delete" in mail. I thought I knew, but under Setting/Mail/Swipe Options, my only choice is to "Flag" a message or None, which is not at all what I want.
  10. This. JFC Larry, I assume that you bought the watch to wear it so do just that. If the band gets scratched, so what? If you bought the watch to just look at and keep as pristine as possible then put it away and never put it on your wrist.
  11. Not exactly my cup, but I'm happy you're happy Larry.
  12. I think that's how I characterized those cables many years ago and I strive for consistency in my loathing of that manufacturer's products.
  13. Fixed. At least it's not dog-pecker-pink like Jena Labs. That's as close to a compliment as I can get.
  14. That stock cable is awful.
  15. http://www.a5oc.com/forums/audi-a5-s5-tech/28600-complete-vcds-vagcom-mod.html I see a few things I'd do on there.
  16. Bummer, mine is the Micro CAN. Still, if there are even a few things that it does for you they can make all the difference in terms of enjoying the car and making it your own. Makes the $250 pretty easy to justify...
  17. Go to Ross tech, plug in your VIN and it'll tell you what you need. If it happens to be the same as mine, you're welcome to borrow it. Dayom.
  18. I could take or leave the stickers. As someone who had older Audi's that had the original Quattro door stickers I kind of like them, as a rapidly-more-middle-aged-white-dude I now prefer stealth to shoutiness.
  19. Jeff, you could just BT stream to the radio and then all you have to worry about is a charging solution for the phone which is pretty simple to deal with. Otherwise, I agree, bizarre choice to still be outfitting these cars with outdated cables.
  20. ^^ and a hell yes! Please Jeff, drive it gingerly (but not like our favorite ginger) for the next 3 years, got bored and then sell it to me.
  21. Happy Birthday Ben!
  22. Nicely done, Jeff! Can't wait to see some pics.
  23. So let me get this straight, roomie is balking at paying rent as she walks on the deal and has the balls to drink your booze without asking?
  24. I'm sure you can find them (google tells me so) but the issue is going to be how to find one of them and not 100 or 1000 of them. Honestly, your quickest and cheapest solution may just be to buy another pot and save the nutless one for a project when you can have a front panel made with a threaded mount to overcome the missing part. No, I'm not kidding.
