  1. Right, that would make a lot more sense.
  2. 1. When you say case costs are you including the various finishing bits and pieces or do you just mean raw chassis including panel fab? If it's the latter and you go single chassis figure $200 for just the bones. The chassis once it gets shipped will probably run ~$100 and having both panels done will probably run another $100 (maybe less, maybe more). Of course that leaves you a long way from a finished case but you know that. I'd bet I spent ~$300 on Mike's beta22 including the knobs, switches, RCA's, IEC, etc. 2. You do not want to be mounting the trafo to a PCB, or at least I wouldn't. For me and my money and with the size of the sucker you're talking here I'd want that beast bolted to metal and no chance of shock loading a solder joint or pcb with anything else attached to it.

Yeah, I could use a laugh today so keep 'em coming.
  9. I'm in favor of prototyping as well. It'd be a pisser to order 100 fubar'd PCBs.
  10. Serious consideration will have to be given to how to handle the money so that paypal doesn't eat you guys alive for fees.
  11. Given the magnitude of what we're talking about here I think that there is going to have to be one, central money collector who can distribute funds to the individual buyers prior to purchase. It wouldn't surprise me if we order $1000 or more of just transformers, the potted and shielded units are probably going to run $75 each or so.
  12. I can talk with Richard @ SumR if necessary, I have a working relationship with him already.
  13. Kevin's designs aren't often fond of unity or even low gain are they?
  14. Outside Kevin I don't think anyone has heard a Dynafet so there's no answer to your question.
  15. Currently there are (magically) both 44 boards offering to be built and 44 requested. I have not added boards for me since honestly, I don't want any.
  16. It's virtually guaranteed that you'll have a higher noise floor with the PS in the same chassis. If pushed I'd recommend a remote trafo triggered by one of amb's e24 boards but again I think heat is going to take careful consideration especially for 4-ch folks.
  17. BLASPHEMY! Sorry, I found the movie hugely entertaining.
  18. For heat reasons alone I think a 2-box solution would be prudent. Overkill perhaps, but better safe than sorry.
  19. You've already got one (HA-2) and if I could just stop getting sick you'd have your fracken adapter.
  20. I'm not sure I've ever had that much just laying around. But if you guys want some exotic wire for this project I'll work my contacts and discounts and see how cheaply it can be had.
  21. Officially setup and tested the Nugget Audio Amplification Benchmark facility. In other words, tested the new M-Audio DAC and dummy load running the RMAA software suite. I'm sure I have a few things to tweak properly but it looks reasonably correct running the standard loop-back baseline.
  22. wut?
  23. Now if they just had sets with matching bits I might actually order some. I hate having to buy tap, wrench, bit, etc. for each friggen piece. A google turned up squat for sets but I don't have much time.
  24. Damn, those be sweet.
