  1. Oh I see, so that Samsung or another manufacturer is producing those panels but only for Apple and not selling the same under their own brand. It could be, I don't know how frequent is that.
  2. Very true. It depends on how picky you're about quality and if you really need an Apple display. Maybe it's a good deal having the OEM display at 1/2 the price if you're getting 90% of the performance.
  3. Yeah, that's what we're discussing, the point is knowing if they still have that relationship, or is Apple sourcing their LCDs elsewhere

Cool, go visit them, maybe they don't have a demo room other than for VIP customers, but who knows. It's also possible they have ex-demo or refurbished pairs at hand (this is supposed to be my evil laugh )

They were set up in a mastering studio, full of excellent quality pro gear like Lavry DA-924 + LE3000. IIRC power amps were Bryston, but I'm not 100% sure. The model was the previous one using black mid-woofers. Not that I had the chance to play my music or pay any "critical listening" whatever that is, but could get a grasp on their character. Rather impressive I must say. Those things can play loud and doing it without distortion. Cristal clear sound, a bit in the cold analytical side of things, but that could be due to many other things, including the amps. I suppose they're a very good tool for mastering, mixing and any professional application, but not that sure they'll give "musical bliss" in the Harbeth, Spendor, Quad way.
  6. So my acquaintance wasn't misinformed. It'd be possible then, were that still true, finding a Samsung monitor with similar performance to Apple`s models for a way lower price. Eventually with worse QC. Are those monitors the very same the iMac sports?
  7. Someone told me once, a couple of years ago, that the LCD panel in the Apple monitors was sourced by Samsung, but not sure that's true anymore.

    Yep
  9. I'm far even flabbergasted though whatsoever
  10. You didn't read your welcome PM, did you?
  11. I wish you have a really good one, you remaster master
  12. And had way more capacity without being that bigger. People were flipped with my first 10Gb iPod. Most other devices had less than 1Gb by that time.
  13. Dave Holland, Pepe Habichuela - Hands I'm no flamenco aficionado, but this disc is goooood
  14. So contents, though maybe different from the classic concept of audio/video/games. However I'm curious about what will be the next hardware "new thing" which is not an improvement or variation from Mac/iPod/iPhone. IMHO iPad is just a fusion thing of those three.
  15. Damien Rice - O Earth, Wind & Fire - All 'N All Captain Beefheart and The Magic Band- The Spotlight Kid / Clear Spot
  16. I like this socialism of us then
  17. I suppose this is good news if you're really that willing to get back to work Glad to know you're not doped anymore.
  18. Fred Jackson - Hootin' 'N' Tootin'
  19. You're welcome. Not a bad price considering it's about 9 euros/l here.
  20. I had no idea they're making that vermouth in Spain, well in Catalonia... If you're having a hard time to get it, I could look for a couple of bottles and sending it to you, maybe to Al, so you can taste it at MOA. Nevermind, just saw Al found it at a local shop What's the price there?
  21. Congrats Craig!!
  22. Holy shit, don't these people respect honorable dead ones? First Miles, now Bob. Who'll be next, Beethoven?
  23. Stax 4070 and BHSE.
  24. Good luck!!!
  25. This. It's lovely, something I had never expected to say about a Jarrett's album.
