What's in da baaaahhhhhxxxxx? Some parts. Darker blue than we thought. Happiest kid in the world in this moment. **BRENT**

  • Liked the Turbo Vado Super Light so much, I bought another one in Michigan. Same silver and black. We couldn't find Claire an SL in Northern Michigan or online so we got her the  regular Turbo Vado 5.

  • I bought an e-bike. Specialized Turbo Vado 5.0 Super Light 2022 edition. Claire got a 4.0 step-through.

after riding a road bike for a bit i've started lowering the mtb a little. even after lowering it i have negative drop. with no spacers, the stem flipped, and replacing the riser with a flat bar, i think i'd be at even

i dont know how the tall people ride down a hill like this

Edited by justin

For steep downhills, don't riders stop and lower their seat stems?

down hill, you get off the seat and lower the center of gravity behind the seatpost.  :)

Yup, dropper seatpost is where it's at.

All of my mountain bikes are setup with the bars higher or level with the seat.  Low bars on a mountain bike don't make sense unless you're doing XC racing.  For all other riding you want to be more upright for better balance and so that you have more room to move your weight around to control & balance the bike in rough terrain.  Trying to have a road bike position on a mountain bike is stupid IMO, unless all you're doing is riding gravel roads in which case you should be on a cross bike.

Rode a different route with Chris today that took us over a large bridge into Maryland followed by a never ending hill up into Maryland.  I think while I am in better shape now I might actually be in worse cycling shape now that I only ride once a week at most.

Today was fun but the wind on the Mad Fibers was a bit disconcerting as my front wheel would randomly just twist in the wind.

I did two loops at Patapsco today with the beginners group, it was quite a lot of fun with a bunch of new experiences. Roots...lots and lots of roots and logs to jump over, though what was really hard for me were the roots on the steep climbs, those were particularly rough. Creek crossings were interesting as well, soaked shoes are fun to pedal in :P

That is why I am on the road bike all the time.  Hope everything is okay.

Same as CA except happened very fast and hit fronttop of shoulder instead of meaty backz about to get morphine and xray

As another that went on that trip in CA I can say that sucks massively.  Hopefully it is not a Collarbone.  Did that back in the football days and it is a tough one.

Totally with you Jeff, hope it's not a collarbone!

Dunno what happened, had good speed on tiny smooth downhill , a couple tiny speed bumps after and suddenly over the top. If anything i think its clavicle

Those little closely spaced bumps can fuck up a bike making it fly if hit just right.

Ouch that sucks big time Justin.

I enjoyed my ride with Jeff today but I feel bad I dragged him into a construction zone in Maryland. I will not be doing that route again for a year or so it looks like with the amount of construction it looked like they had planned.

It was not that bad.  If people didn't think they needed to pass in single lanes with jersey barriers on both sides it would have been a bit better.  That long climb was a hell of a workout.
