July 15, 20205 yr I hurt my foot running and didn’t want to lose the gains i’ve made so I went out on the bike today. i rode my old mountain bike because I figured the extra weight would help.

July 15, 20205 yr oh for sure, those early 90s mountain bikes were basically 26" road bikes with knobby tires. I threw a goofy touring handlebar setup, because the frame is way too big for me to use with drop bars, and I wanted to ride it longer distances and be able to change up hand positions.
July 20, 20205 yr Decided to ride to our vacation spot today. Didn't look at time/distance/speed once during the ride. Just rode at a pace that I thought would allow me to finish. An unexpected detour added about five and a half miles and an additional big hill or two but I survived, so no complaints.
July 20, 20205 yr And I feel like 14 miles at 11 mph is an accomplishment Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
July 20, 20205 yr ^^ It's all relative, Dan. I've got a friend in town that routinely goes out and rips off 40+ mile rides at averages well over 20mph.
July 22, 20205 yr You know that's not a bike, right? And that you're not supposed to have a beer while driving a car?

July 28, 20205 yr Today's ride on the new to me Lemond: 17.3 miles, 13.6 mph, 798 calories, 589ft elevation gain
July 30, 20205 yr You had very little elevation so I am wondering if you hit 33 and 34 mph on the flats? That is some impressive hammering!
August 3, 20205 yr Riding without using the small ring, so I'll be ready when the mid-compact gets here.
August 7, 20205 yr I just went to a 120/6 stem. Got me a little more reach, and a little lower. My Ultegra group is working it's way through the covid affected international air shipping. Did 25 miles/1000 Ft of climbing today. Averaged 14.9mph. Still avoiding the small ring.
