June 24, 201511 yr @Joamat: have had many wet dreams rgrd the TI59 back in the days ... I really miss the red rube like display - had some magic to it
June 24, 201511 yr Why would I take them out, they still work... I hope you did remove the batteries before storing? or at least they haven't leaked ... there a few articles in PPC rgrd synthetic programming on the HP15C ... not of much use, but rather entertaining if you want to fiddle a bit with the intrinsic of Saturn
June 25, 201511 yr My HP48GX (along with many other things) didn't survive Hurricane Sandy. I still used it occasionally, too. The iOS emulator is good, but not quite the same.
June 25, 201511 yr I still keep the slide rule, the HP11C and two posterior models but unfortunately I don't keep the HP35, the first HP that I had.
June 25, 201511 yr *LOL* old love never dies .... those calculators either Texas or HP did quite an impression on most back then ....had a pow whom I studied togther with....bought a HP went home ...and had an accident with his car ....got off road and ended in the middle of a field ..he cannot remember much apart from the first thing he did was open the trunk and test he newly bought HP calculator ;o)
June 25, 201511 yr @gepardcv: thought you were German based??? (sorry no offens meant here) No offense taken at all, that's kind of amazing, why did you think I'm in Germany? I live in San Francisco now, and was in New York for a long time before that. Edited June 25, 201511 yr by gepardcv
June 25, 201511 yr Think I begin to like this topic. Maybe one should try building a ksa5. Just build one yourself ! We are waiting for your thoughts and tweaks
October 13, 201510 yr My Klone is now 99.5 % complete, and breaking in.It's more than a pretty nice amp, drives both my HD600 and LCD3c beautifully.Sadly I don't have unbalanced out from my DIY DAC yet, so feeding it with an Aune T1, not bad but quite edgy and unrefined.I'll take some crappy pictures for your pleasure when the knob thing will be done.
October 31, 201510 yr How close does the EBay clone get on this one? Seems they got the circuit right at least?
December 1, 201510 yr Have you seen these pcbs ? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ZEROZONE-KG-version-KSA5-Headphone-amplifier-bare-PCB-PSU-PCB-L1510-13/121805396160?_trksid=p2060778.c100276.m3476&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140725133651%26meid%3Dbd07881e77664672af0485e822d617b0%26pid%3D100276%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D151270640351
December 1, 201510 yr Author those are the right thing. and the ebay clones, all did circuit modifications, some have half the output transistors, some messed with the bias etc. None are exactly the right thing Edited December 1, 201510 yr by kevin gilmore
December 1, 201510 yr I thought so but this is too much to sell the "KG-version" or not ? Thinking about it maybe not so serious I do not know how much sending the gerbers to a pcb house and the quality is a question too.
January 12, 201610 yr another ksa5 alive . i would like to thanks everyone here in the forum for their input and a special thanks to kevin gilmore make this build possible. after seeing that boards on ebay are avaible i jumped the train and ordered the parts, i'm verry happy 1. because i could build this amp and 2. i have again a krell in the house (let a ksa100 go for my diy pass f5t). build was fun whitout any suprises, maybe a not on the pots for the bias, i also need to turn them near completle down for a bias of 100mv. sounds fine from the start an brings the memory of my krell back, a very fine headphone amp.

You can just get the heatsinks too; http://world.taobao.com/item/39029827416.htm?spm=a312a.7728556.2014080708.7.Q9YXwK They look cool but I wonder how effective they are at dissipating heat.
