April 23, 201511 yr My Stainless Apple Watch is still scheduled to ship by 4/24-5/8, but I just got an email noting acceleration on my Space Grey sport ship date = Delivers: Apr 29 - May 12 by Standard Shipping EDIT - NEVERMIND The changed date was just for an extra strap I ordered. April 23, 201511 yr Got a tracking number today for delivery tomorrow for my SS with WSB. Woohoo! My excitement is tempered by the fact that that the Space Grey one I'm giving to someone as a gift won't be showing up anytime soon, but oh well.
April 24, 201511 yr All I got so far was a spare charging cable today. Yo dawg, we heard you like charging your watch so we sent you a charger you can watch while you're watching out for a watch to charge with the charger.

April 24, 201511 yr interesting.. when looking at the exploded views before, I really liked some design elements - the tear down looked a little bit like duct tape and bailing wire. As they improve the design in the future, I am sure it will get better - was just a little surprised.

April 25, 201511 yr I was looking at the app store for watch apps. Nothing that interests me is available, but you can get Welsh Word of the Day. WTF? Who decides these are the best for launch?
April 25, 201511 yr Author Hoping my bling watch lands me a date with that red head on the cover! You better not take any chances. http://youtu.be/MMF9I_9DAcs And Vicky I have a feeling "best for launch" means operational.
April 27, 201511 yr So on a whim this afternoon, I looked to see if I could get an appointment at the Apple Store and got right in. I have to say I'm really glad I got the watch I did. I kinda liked the aluminum better than the space grey I got in the sport, but I was really impressed with most of them. Looks-wise, I was drawn to the stainless steel with the modern buckle, but can't justify the additional $200 plus cost. The band of the sports watch is sooo soft and comfy, it was easy to wear, and I don't wear any jewelry because I can't stand how it feels. I got to play with actual watch for a bit, and I don't know what people are saying in the reviews that the watch is complicated to figure out. I obviously only messed around with a couple things in the 20 or so minutes I was there, but I now can't wait for mine to arrive. The only thing I think that will disappointment me is if the heart rate monitor is wildly inaccurate.
April 27, 201511 yr It is apparently very accurate. I saw a post on a running forum this morning where a guy took his Apple Watch and Garmin + chest strap out for a 10K. The distance covered showed exactly the same on both devices and the average heart rate only differed by 1 beat per minute.
April 27, 201511 yr Pretty funny article stating that the screen on the sport version is better because it is less reflective. Apple claimed they couldn't do AR coating because it is prone to scratch. Seems they really should have consulted with watch manufactures some more. The outside surface of the sapphire is not he only place one can use AR coating effectively.

I was planning on doing the same with the Garmin Edge on my bike plus chest strap. Keeping fingers crossed. BTW, i noticed that there was a designation for rowing in the exercise section along with things like indoor cycling and outdoor cycling.
April 28, 201511 yr Author The Consumer Reports initial HRM tests were encouraging too. http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/news/2015/04/first-test-results-of-apple-watch-and-apple-watch-sport/index.htm
