Alright, I'll say it. iRacing may have a bit of a steep learning curve and a dated interface but this is THE GAME. The driving feels sooo good.

I keep hearing this over and over from the couple of people who have been trying to convince my F1 23 group that we should all bail and jump to iRacing. But it turns out it's hard to convince a diverse group of people to jump over to something so... scary.

It is very intimidating, but I'm taking it one bite at a time.

I have no idea how all these other people are so good at driving. I don't feel like I'm doing badly but I'm way off the pace of the leaders.

I just bought the XIII remake.  It was $2.  When it came out (4 year ago) it was universally panned.  Not only because it was a ruinous remake a of a beloved original, but also because it was plain bad.  Apparently it's had a major patch since then and I'm morbidly curious enough to try it out.

This should be fun to try out. 
 

If anyone is looking for a very cheap used 7700x that this is replacing, pm me!

Dusting off iRacing after months off to start getting the rust off before a track weekend in January.

Even in the sim i am scared shitless by the fast corners. I would say that matches reality well! Need to drill in to my monkey brain that high speed corners = no trail brake and keep the rear settled.

Threw down a challenge to Br0nt to try and get within a second of my lap times.

Maybe I can just get a stream up and play 10-15 hours/day and make sim racing content of just playing until I can destroy T$. I'm sure I can talk @Grahame into subscribing.

I grabbed Forza Horizon 4 (late to the game as usual) - it is being delisted tomorrow because of expiring car licenses - available on Steam and the Microsoft Store - Forza Horizon 5 has better graphics but people say it isn't as good:
 

 

What a deligtful game this is. I was smiling the entire time, including as the Raiders March played over the end credits.

Raiders is my favorite action movie ever, so I am very much the target audience for this one.

That one interested me too. Is it short? $70 for a short game/story was my only concern. 

I took about 17 hours to get through the entire thing. Its on games pass, so I played it that way.

Insane idea, 10/10 execution. I love it! 🤘

Watching some Trackmania - red bull finals

GTAV: Enhanced unlocked today.  It's free to owners of plain old GTAV on Steam and the R* store (apparently EGS users get the shaft, but seeing as how GTAV was free on the EGS, I can see why.)  The visual upgrade is pretty, but not earth shattering.  Frame rates are slightly better on the same hardware.  That is a rare one for R*.  I'll post screenshots later if I think of it.
