Dusty Chalk Posted April 3 Report Posted April 3 As an enormous fan of Danny Elfman, I had to watch this through to the end: https://www.facebook.com/reel/483250727742271 I can hear it! The 60's / 70's retro stylings, especially in the orchestral version in the reel, it really brings it out. 1
mikeymad Posted April 8 Report Posted April 8 I do like me some space documentaries. I was at Vandenburg, CA during this period as an Air Force brat. I followed the MMU progress closely at the time. 5
mikeymad Posted April 13 Report Posted April 13 Going Full Coachella for a little bit. Just unmute the one that interests me at the time. 1

TMoney Posted April 23 Report Posted April 23 This is good. It is about computer components, but the same factors that affect that industry affect a lot of industries. People are going to flip when prices of consumer goods start going up. 1 1

So this is 3 hours, but well worth it. I know people who've put it on at 1.5x or 2x, but there's a point where a company shows a spreadsheet of their actual numbers and how the tariffs affect their product. Spoiler alert: on a product with a 5$ margin that's MSRP is 130$, it's costing them over 90$ for each one that's sold.
Grahame Posted May 8 Report Posted May 8 Pope Leo is from Chicago you say? New Yorkers might have something to say about that.
mikeymad Posted June 6 Report Posted June 6 Yeah Yeah another Rick Video - but I had never heard the isolated tracks before - pretty darn cool. 1

TMoney Posted June 11 Report Posted June 11 I stopped watching anything by LTT a few years ago and I regret nothing. I feel dumber from just looking at their click-baity thumbnails.
Dusty Chalk Posted June 12 Report Posted June 12 I'd be lying if I said anything other than, I want this computer: ...or perhaps just some run time on it.
HemiSam Posted June 12 Report Posted June 12 We watched Becoming Led Zeppelin on Netflix last night. Very enjoyable...missed it on IMAX but such is life. HS 4

MexicanDragon Posted June 19 Report Posted June 19 Which is a 2-hr follow-up to the amazing 3-hr piece on tariffs in the computer hardware industry below: This piece was big and eye-opening enough that Bloomberg picked it up and brought Steve from GN (aka Tech Jesus) onto their podcast: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-05-07/the-tariff-buzzsaw-is-coming-for-hardcore-gamers 2
