January 16, 20224 yr We're forecast to only get rain tonight/tomorrow which is a huge bummer and quiet the departure from the bitter cold of the last several days.
January 18, 20224 yr Very weird weather last night. It started out as snow, turned to rain, but cold enough to still be freezing with the wind chill, so it just sort turned into...? I don't know. I didn't step outside. Pure black ice weather. My bursitis was acting up just thinking about it.
January 22, 20224 yr It's been somewhat bananas here, with temps either being way above normal with precipitation (earlier in the week 45 and rainy) and now a run of single-digit frigid cold with wind chills deep into the negatives digits. There's virtually no snow left at this point and the skiing is shit from all the rain so it's pretty hard to enjoy winter when it's like that.

January 29, 20224 yr The snowmageddon has commenced here in southern NH. It started around 7am and has picked up significantly in the last hour. Winds are steady and not insane, here's to hoping they stay that way and the power stays on. Brisket production has already been delayed one day to allow weather to clear and avoid an interrupted cook. Bear in mind that the yard was 100% bare of snow yesterday.
January 29, 20224 yr Gah. Just went out and cleaned off part of the Fit so I could plug in its trickle charger. Yep, that's some fuckin' snow. Biting arctic wind as well. It's pretty awful outside.
January 30, 20224 yr Yup, it’s proper winter out. We seem to be getting the lower of projected snow fall totals which is ok but it’s 12F with wind and not a good time to be outside.
January 30, 20224 yr I do when it doesn't show up. Winter is not so long here, even back in the day before it barely existed. By the end of the week it's supposed to be back in the 40s and raining, that I don't miss.
January 30, 20224 yr It never crested 0° C yesterday -- was probably safer walking yesterday than it will be today, since nothing melted and refroze into black ice. Just sublimated. Today I will be very very careful when I go on my walk (shortly -- peak sun -- as black ice happens to form in the shadows of the apartment buildings around here).
February 23, 20224 yr Currently a chilly 64 degrees in scenic B'town. We might get 6-12" of snow by the end of the week. I rate that a solid New England/10.
February 23, 20224 yr ^^^ Yup, it was 55F at 5AM so I said fuck it and rode my bike to work only to be greeted with a winter storm warning (for Friday). It is 65 and sunny currently. Tonight it is supposed to drop to 19. This shit is bananas. B A N A N A S.
February 24, 20224 yr The ride home was painful. Mother Nature decided that she gave no fucks about the forecast, which had called for strong but not insane winds shifting from WSW to NNE later in the day. When I left work at 4:15 for the 20 mile ride, it was ripping WSW at 19MPH with gusts up to 32MPH. By the time I got home the temps had dropped into the mid 40s and I was thanking the good lord that I remembered arm warmers.
February 24, 20224 yr I had to scrape a 16th of an inch of ice off of my windshield this morning. Still, remembering the 6 month Alaskan winters, I just think how lucky I am to only need to do that 2 - 3 times a year.
