8 hours of meetings

nice dinner with attendees of said meeting

came home and started to catch up on email

my cat then knocked my one of my Paradigm speakers off its stand breaking off the plastic logo holder

screamed at cat (did nothing to the cat but made me feel better)

glued plastic thing back on, here's hoping it holds

Kicking myself for not buying the crumpler 6mdh from ebags while they still had the color I wanted. 15% off + 20% bing cashback made it a great deal. :palm:

Tried to get one the 6mdh from ebags with bing a few days ago (in black). I couldn't seem to make the bag show up in my shopping cart so I gave up and now I am also kicking myself for not trying harder. :(

NM: I see that it is working now. I'm an idiot... but yeah, no more black.

Same happened to me. They were apparently on holiday and nothing I put in the cart would show. That was the email response I got from them. Stupid ebags... makes me want to say douchebags haha

My cat has taken to bouncing off vertical things. I think he's trying to recreate this scene from Daywatch:

Must be the cold (by south Florida standards, anyway) weather. The voltage regulators on both of ours have gone on the fritz. It's like living in a cement mixer with two furry ping pong balls.

Shipped out the T2 and then took the car in for an oil change. While it was up on the lift I managed to fix the exhaust system which rattled when the engine was running at low revs. Turns out it was loose from one of the rubber mountings so slight manhandling and it was good as new. Stupid VW's and their low ground clearance...

Then I watched the president of Iceland partially redeem himself in the eyes of the nation by refusing to sign a piece of legislation that would have made us bankrupt and killed all economic growth for the next 30 years.

People over here (the press) are grumbling about it and that means that fuckwit Gordon Brown will probably do something stupid (not that using anti-terror law against Iceland in the first place wasn't fucking stupid) to save some face. We have a general election in a few months and it's already ugly.

Frankly, the repayment isn't the responsibility of the Icelandic government, it was private banks that failed and the government can sort the mess of their nation how it sees fit. The repayment scheme would be just as bad for Iceland as the reparations that Germany was expected to pay back to the allied powers after world war one. And those lead directly to the rise of Hitler. It won't be the first time that another country has gone "err, no" to the UK in recent years. France have done it several times over various issues. Mostly related to farming.

We're pissing away more than the money owed each month in blind government policy as our decaying Prime Minister and his blind socialist agenda attempts to keep itself in power by strangling the economy beyond all reasonable means until after the election in part of its desperate hope to cling to power. It's fucking disgusting.

BTW what happened to your lesbian president?

That cat makes me smile. Curious little troublemaker.
I want to get a slow motion camera just for him. I want the following film:

(low to the floor, looking through doorway into kitchen, framed by doorway)

(nothing happens)

(for perhaps just a beat too long, nothing continues to happen)

(dust starts to blow in from stage left, it is now obvious that this is slow motion)

(cat enters from stage left, "drifting", going sideways from sheer momentum, scrambling for traction)

(cat continues from stage left to stage right, "drifting")

(cat exits stage right, still "drifting")

(fade to black)

Not paying isn't really the issue here, it's more like paying huge interest rates to the UK and Holland which is the issue and the left wing government trying to shove a terrible deal down our throats.

First off, the people sent to negotiate were utter fucktards, washed up communist (as in long live Stalin) put away over the recent years in some meaningless government positions. We didn't even sent lawyers to do this and it has been well established that the fucktards didn't understand all of the treaty due to the legal language it is written in.

Then it was put in front of the parliament to be rushed through and nobody was even allowed to see it at first. Then the government backed down and said the official review agency would take a look at the deal and give the MP's a review of sorts. Against a stiffening opposition they finally released the treaty but only parts of it. Now the lawyers stepped in and said the treaty wouldn't stand in the courts here as it threatened the independence of the nation. The government still pushed onwards and after months of fighting and making compromises it was to be voted on a week ago.

The night before a British law firm stated to send reports they had which showed a lot of sinister things going on behind the curtains. The worst part was a request from the head of the negotiation committee asking the British lawyers to hide their finding that we could fight and win this matter in the courts from the Icelandic government. They all objected and said they law firm was working for the opposition in the parliament. What a ridicules claim as the lawyers were just protecting their own ass in case this data would prove to be valuable later on and they thus liable.

Ok have to run but here is the matter in a nutshell. We have nothing against paying this even if it is comparable to the US paying now for all the wars it has fought since Vietnam in one go.

The PM is a lesbian and a not too distant relative of mine. :palm: Utter fuckwit that.

Called MoCo for an update, was told that they have already hired everyone for the April academy, and that the next one was going to be in Jan 2011. They also said that my application is probably still with the captain. Ah well, bad time to be going for this type of job.
