It was a $1200 D700. It had all the pictures and everything but I guess it must have been some kind of scam.

My daughter (almost 12) is on the yearbook staff at her magnet school. Her grade went on a field trip to the Atlanta Aquarium, and she was one of four people allowed to take a camera. I set her up wit

I've hardly taken photos in the last however many years, but what I have been doing since I got this shiny M1 Macbook Pro is blowing the dust off my editing skills. July 1, 2006, the first

2009 was one of the craziest years of my life, paralleling 1996.  I should do a photo essay on it.  That'd take more time than I have, so here's a Cliff's Notes version. The year started fairly i

For the NEX-5N or NEX-5 users: I tried one of each today, but found that my fingers are maybe longer than the designers had anticipated. The grip seems a little shallow and the shutter button hits just inside my first knuckle. I suppose I could get used to it. Anyone with long fingers used this regularly? The 5N with the touch screen is super fast and easy to used. Damn.

i have short fingers and find nex 5 give me a wee bit of trouble but not nearly as bad as you. how about the 10 dollar remote? ;)

Remote, eh? I'll have to look in to that. Thanks, crappy.

Maybe I just need to adjust my grip. Or hold it from the bottom like a bigboy camera. Or maybe that salesman was making me fucking nuts with

his incessant yapping. I'll have to play with it somewhere else.

No worries: it looks like the kit version of the 5N won't be available for a bit anyway. That dealer can't keep them in and the supply is fooked from the Thailand flooding (or so he said...). I think the wait might be worth it since I would imagine the next batch should have the video clicking firmware built in.

the remote was just a joke but hey if it helps you then why not. it is only 10 bucks and supposedly works quite well. give it a try. if it doesnt work for you, send it back to amazon.

there are a bunch of kits and bodies on sale over at fm...

i have a little strange little set up with my nex 5. lets see if i can find any pictures of it. oddly enough it forces my left hand to hold the camera in a way which is rather comfortable.

I'll need to add this to the mindless consumerism thread as well. This Santa season has been especially busy (actually making some money), so I bought myself a 100mm macro lens. Been meaning to do so for some time, and there are instant rebates going on now with B&H: http://www.bhphotovi...2_8L_Macro.html

Did some nighttime shots this evening as I am finally somewhere without massive amounts of light pollution.

Nice night shots Jeff. Did you curl up with a Swiss Miss after that?

Pleades cluster in your second shot. Nice. 32 seconds, eh? These are all very nice.

Anyone know about a sigma sa7n camera? Looks to be in pretty good condition. Comes with 28-80 and 70-300 lenses. Sigma mount. Lenses are in pretty good condition. $110?

Want something decent and cheap to play with film. Something with decent resale value would be nice in case it doesn't go too well.

I usually refer to KEH.com when wondering about prices.

Some more from Texas.

Really really like the first shot...

has screen background written all over it... (just need 1080 size) grin.gif

Great! Amazing focus. Any idea what should have been the shutter speed to stop the wings motion?

Awesome shooting.

Its nearly impossible to do with available light, most people use flash to stop insect/hummingbird wings.

I want them to release a D800 already. That said with strollers/diaper bag/laptops etc I don't think I will be traveling with a DSLR anytime soon.
