January 6, 201511 yr Inherited/got a RX100 for Christmas so I messed around with it during a trip to Naples last week. IMO, this was my nicest shot all day.
January 6, 201511 yr ^^^ Very nice, Raffy, but stick that bad boy in any editing app (even iPhoto will do), and straighten the horizon. Pretty amazing what that little Sony can do.
January 7, 201511 yr Nice photo, and nice colors. Which generation RX100 is it? Mine's a 1st generation one, and I really envy the viewfinder the III has. I do much worse composing on a rear screen.
January 7, 201511 yr Hey Michael! Happy 2015 to your and your family! Same here, Michael, and nice to see you around here.
January 7, 201511 yr Anybody with any experience with a Tamron SP 17 - 35mm f/2.8-4.0 Di? I'm intending to use it on a D700 body. I've read some good things about it. Get a good copy and it's a great bargain. On a D800 for a filterable ultra wide. I wouldn't use it on a 36MP body, but it worked well for me ok n the 700.
January 8, 201511 yr Got the gear today only to find out none of the software I have PS CS5, Lightroom 4 and Aperture can be updated to work with the D750 RAW files.
January 8, 201511 yr Really thinking about going with DXO Optics first before sticking with PS. Not really a fan of Adobe. Quick 12,800 ISO shot in a darkish room.
January 8, 201511 yr I doubt the d800 could do that. Care to post a full resolution file of that one?
January 8, 201511 yr That's pretty amazing. Wonder how the A7S does compared to the D750 for high iso shooting. Surely the D750 focuses faster/has more lenses.
January 8, 201511 yr SOOC (cropped) Samples. I seem to have front focus issues with this Sigma 35. 2200 ISO 5000 ISO ISO 10000 Edited January 8, 201511 yr by VPI
January 8, 201511 yr You should be able to dial those issues out, no? Even on the D7000 there is a focus plane adjustment that you can make lens specific.
January 8, 201511 yr Yeah I will use the LensAlign system when I get a L Plate so I can set it up on a tripod. Should be able to get it right if it is not too far out.
January 8, 201511 yr Did you get the Sigma Art dongle? I thought you can adjust it permanently there.
January 8, 201511 yr ^ Yep, and the Sigma dock will also let you adjust it at different distances, as well as update lens firmware. I stopped using mine, except for firmware update, when it apparently reset the adjustments I'd made without my permission. Could very well have been a user error, but I just use the in camera adjustment since my lens had very little differences at different focus distance.
January 8, 201511 yr Does the sigma software let you tweak at different F-stops too? For lenses that focus perfectly at F(max) but front/backfocus at F(2 stops less)? Edited January 8, 201511 yr by nikongod
January 8, 201511 yr ^ Unfortunately, no. That would've been a nice feature, though. No wonder if they could add it with future updates. FWIW, the Sigma software interface is terrible. A better translation/localization to English would help greatly. Edited January 8, 201511 yr by Salt Peanuts
