Ah - the good old battleship grey Cambridge Audio livery. It was panned by the reviewers, as were the buttons on the CD player (they described them as reminiscent of poking dead flesh). Very unfair, b

Not a very porn-y pic, but I'd like to point out that these speakers have a really high WAF.

I need to put together a speaker system, again. I got to hear the Golden Ears Triton Ones in March, and they are exquisite, and seemingly much easier to integrate into a room than my Thiels ever were (and much better than the already excellent Thiels, as speakers).

Those sound interesting Jacob... I'll have to try to hear them sometime. Probably could have at Axpona had I known about them.

I was really surprised.  They don't really look like much, to be honest, but damned if they don't perform! I heard them back-to-back with Maggies (just the 1.7i, but I've heard the bigger ones, and these were well driven), and the Triton Ones (these were the original, not the new "R" version) were in a completely different league.

Thorens Reference. Rare as hen's teeth. So rare I've never seen one for sale - and probably could not afford it even if I did.

^ Almost bought a pair of those back in the day. Bought the floor standing Infinity Monitors w/ the Walsh tweeter instead

Same here.

I bought a pair of JBL L100 monitors from Warehouse Sound mail order (stab from the past).

I lived with them until I got the "high end" bug.

I think we bought ours from Warehouse Sound or some such place out SanLuis Obispo, CA as well!

Never liked the L100s though :(

I bought the ESS AMT 1D's. The 12" woofer was a little on the sloppy side, but that Heil AMT was amazing!

Oh, baby.

Hmm, I recognize the Quads of course, and some McIntosh amps and what looks like a Fisher 500C, and perhaps Dahlquist DQ10s behind? Don't know about the rest.
