August 13, 200916 yr I saw him not too long ago at one of his Monday night shows here in the City. Great Performer and a great innovator. The two Les Paul and Friends CDs that came out a few years ago are also great.

August 13, 200916 yr Doesn't the story go that Less mounted a phono pickup into a guitar, thus creating the first electric guitar? However it happened I know he was instrumental (no pun intended) in developing the first electric hard bodied guitar. We'll miss ya Less.

He also mounted strings and pickups onto a big block of wood to create the first solid body guitar. Or so Wikipedia tells me. I'm too young to have an innate sense of appreciation for Mr. Paul. I will admit that I went to Amazon to check out sample tracks as soon as I read the news.
