November 4, 200916 yr Especially with the up/down/left/right motion -- that's definitely correct either way. EDIT: Oh, look, there's 1-finger flicks, and 2-finger flicks, as well. I wonder if there are entire-hand flicks, or do you think that would require a larger interface?

March 5, 201016 yr i'll believe it when i see it. i also doubt that the book design is actually that good of an idea in practice. This. Also, I'm not too sure about the "funky" UI. Still, it's great to see Microsoft innovate for once and I could certainly find some use for a tablet-like device that incorporates seamless handwriting recognition.

March 5, 201016 yr Saw this in the morning. I agree it does look cool. I would be interested to see the finished product, but as it looks I am interested.
March 6, 201016 yr That looks about 5 trillion times more useful than the ipad to me. If the price isn't too unreasonable...

March 6, 201016 yr I would be interested to see the finished product, but as it looks I am interested.Didn't Ballmer say a few months ago he had never seen these 'proof of concept' videos? Doubt there's ever going to be a finished product.
March 6, 201016 yr meh. Book form factor = fail. Windows CE OS = fail. MS handwriting recognition = fail. No serious dedicated applications = mega Fail. And I am primarily a Windows OS user.
March 7, 201016 yr Didn't Ballmer say a few months ago he had never seen these 'proof of concept' videos? Doubt there's ever going to be a finished product. Right. Vaporware = existential fail.
March 7, 201016 yr Could the apple fanboi's please refrain from thread crapping? That's rich, mr craps in the apple threads
March 7, 201016 yr I wonder if there are entire-hand flicks, or do you think that would require a larger interface? I believe that is called a slap.
March 8, 201016 yr No Apple Fan-Boy here but I must say Microsoft is certainly consistent with their interface design.
March 8, 201016 yr That's rich, mr craps in the apple threads since when? I did once and was asked not to I stopped posting to said threads.
March 8, 201016 yr No Apple Fan-Boy here but I must say Microsoft is certainly consistent with their interface design. Have you used the new Zune? Not very "Microsoft". Also WM7 certainly doesn't fit the mold.
March 8, 201016 yr since when? I did once and was asked not to I stopped posting to said threads. Fair enough, I only notice when things happen, not when they don't...
March 8, 201016 yr Have you used the new Zune? Not very "Microsoft". Also WM7 certainly doesn't fit the mold. Only in the store. I'll keep my Touch thankyou. WM7 is a better interface, but not for a tablet/pad. I have it installed on my ASUS touchscreen and it is faster than Vista, but that is the only improvement I have noticed as far as useability.
