Arrived yesterday and it really opens up every electrostatic headphone that I own. I was looking for an amp that can bring more bass out of my HE90 than HEV90 so I drained my pocket to bid on this and

  • I have been getting back at this..working up to a limited run of these as the STAX SR-X9000 and Audeze CRBN have made that need to happen. But the chassis is extraordinarily expensive and difficult to

  • Isn't everybody glad that I'm crazy enough to buy this stuff and have Kevin rip it apart?

I did something truly nuts tonight, listened to the BHSE at max volume (from a 2V source) just to see what would happen. What I listened to was the beginning drum solo of Megadeth - Trust with the SR-007 Mk1. It was more then enough to make the Omegas start to vibrate but both headphones and amp held up perfectly. Now we are pretty far away from the imminent destruction territory for the Pro bias sets here (+/-600V rails would land us there) but still this was very loud indeed. :)

my fucking hero. :)

Had to affix the drivers in my Lambda Nova Classic back to the baffles again when I noticed both were no longer placed correctly. Might be something to do with the sticky sheet I used. If it happens again, I have more drastic measures in mind.

I have been listening to the 404LE and KGSS (my first Stax rig) lately. I am starting to really understand why everyone describes the Stax sound as "effortless." I am really digging them, more than the LCD-2 (my other "new" can). I can see some O2's and possibly 4070's in my future.

O2s are back in the house, for a bit anyway (I promised to repair them). Now I just need a KGSSHV. I could swear they are brighter than I remember them. Could it be the very worn pads?

Like I've said about 1.3 million times, fit is very important so that could certainly be it. I've had quite a few SR-007's go through here and they all sound the same once I've done my usual tweaks and changed the pads.

The SR-007BL sound pretty darn good out of the 007t, so the fact that Nate shipped my BHse last week is pretty damn exciting. These things fart like crazy, though, even just from turning my head on occasion. I need to figure out where to get Mk II pads to try those out. Does that help the flatulence problem?

I actually got used to the farting pretty quickly, so it happens far, far less now than it did in my first few days of ownership. Not sure what changed, probably something about how I move around while wearing them.

My head must be less prone to farting, I have rarely heard it if ever with my Omega 2.

Wow nice!:) I have yet to hear the SR-Omega on a BH but from impressions, it seems that it is quite special.

Same here, I rarely hear my O2 squeal, pretty much only if I squeeze on it. While KG's O2 at CJ was squealing like crazy. I couldn't even budge my head without it making noise. I wonder why sets differ like that?

The pads on Kevin's set were beyond fubar so that is certainly a factor. It would also be a good thing to try an loosen up the arc a bit.

The Mk2 pads also fart so that shouldn't change a whole lot.

Hey... they were soft and pliable :D

And yes there is a new stax king of the hill.

and about time too.

Time for sennheiser to step up to the plate and

produce some competition.

Looks like a cross between the SR-007 and SR-Omega. :)

I'd also throw a SR-X MK3 in the mix.
