I wanted to listen but Ted just took my credit card and told me I bought two pairs. I asked when I would receive them and he laughed and said "they comin'" which I assume means there is a lead time. unfortunately they never asked for my address. if someone could please ask Ted to contact me via email it would help to assuage my worries.

I am going to throw this out, i said something to tyll but he was not listening.

The lcd2's when he tested them were the only headphones he has tested that

are 180 degrees out of phase. I very much doubt that this could have caused

any errors in the software, but the phase at about 5khz went to infinity

because of this. Someone needs to re-wire the things and do it again.

I think he was using an aftermarket cable for the measurements, so maybe

one more time with the original cable.

Still they are great sounding headphones and i'm going to have to get a set as

soon as possible.

Hi,

Can you tell me what this 180degree outta-phase sounds like please?

I just made my own DIY cable using their wiring diagram, and wouldnt want it to have phase issues.

Thanks

He tested ones with different, non-ALO cables. He was in the middle of testing it, so I was only able to listen to the ALO cabled ones. They made the LCD-2's even more heavy than they already were, and being wired out of phase makes sense with how they sounded to me. The soundstage was messed up, almost inverted, towards the back of my head, and extreme left and right stereo separation making them sound like they needed serious crossfeed.

There needs to be a different pair of headband available, it's way too small and far too much clamping pressure. I don't care how much "breaking in" there is, it's made for people with tiny melons.

BTW, thanks for all the fine spirits, I think we all enjoyed them a little too much. I was laughing my ass off at Justin at his HeadAmp table with an open bottle of scotch Sunday morning. Someone has to have a picture of that.

x2 Thanks again. And if I am to get in a drinking contest with Tyll whenever we next meet, I better make damn sure to gain some weight just to be able to survive the experience.:D And yeah, that bottle Justin had was breakfast for at least a few of us.

I completely forgot to check if there was damping on the LCD-2, I figured as such since it has somewhat rolled-off treble. But yeah, the impulse and CSD plots were amazing.
