July 27, 20178 yr Moraz/Bruford, Music for Piano and Drums - Live in Maryland -- I was at this concert, and I only just found out this recording existed.
July 28, 20178 yr Yesterday I discovered this cd in a thrift store. I admit I don´t like Whitesnake but I was curious.Pretty interesting versions of some Purple songs, for example, "Soldier of Fortune" or "Stormbringer".
July 28, 20178 yr Not all that surprising, considering Coverdale was in Purple at the time those songs were recorded. When did that come out? 2015, huh. Will have to try to listen to it once.
July 28, 20178 yr Yeah. I never really care about Coverdale's work with Whitesnake. I prefer the "rancid" themes of the Purple but OK, this work sound nice.
July 29, 20178 yr Well, those are the two best songs from the Coverdale era (those two and Mistreated), I think everyone prefered Machine Head era purp, though I prefer the early Rod Evans era. I have this weird list of bands I'd like to cover 4 songs of, each. Deep Purple is one of them. I would cover "Rat Bat Blue" -- before Helloween covered them, I thought I was alone in this. And yes, Soldier of Fortune is one of them, too.

My favorite South American pianist was Roberto Szidon, though. Szidon is kinda like Gould, though, in that you either love his interpretations or hate them. Edited July 29, 20178 yr by EdipisReks1

July 29, 20178 yr I'll have to check that. For some reason I can't guess, I don't particularly enjoy his playing either.

I can't quite put my finger on it, either, but I flipped sides when I heard that boxed set. I think that, maybe, he is just one of those players that you had to have heard live, in person, to have really appreciated. Edited July 29, 20178 yr by EdipisReks1
