Yes Grahame. But, all of them involves instering things into urethra, well at least they use local anesthesia. As he told me there are 2 options; one uses shockwaves and one uses laser to crumble the stones. Can't remember the medical terms, it was really hard to focus on things he said after "we insert things into your urethra". Still I cannot make up my mind on getting the operation ASAP or wait, take better care of myself, drink yoghurt and pickle juice, as my father advised. Doctor thinks both help for passing them out and reducing the chance of clumping as well. It shouldn't be a big deal, just it seems it is just the begining to me. "More coming soon!" Dunno maybe I should be less dramatic about some teeny-tiny stones. Damn "Transurethral cystolitholapaxy" sounds like name of a grindcore/goregrind song. But yea, that is the procedure he advised.

More than I wanted to know, with some long words ("Transurethral cystolitholapaxy") clearly explained Bladder stones - Treatment - NHS https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/bladder-stones/treatment/ Did they say what your treatment options were, and tradeoffs / preference. Hoping for an outcome that works for you.

It’s a pretty ingenious design. It takes advantage of the fact that a cold filament draws more current than when it’s hot and thermally stable. The circuit outputs 2.5V by default at no load in case someone does a hot-plugging. An 2A3 draws more current than 2.5A when cold, and gradually drops down to 2.5A. The output is maintained at 2.5V. If it’s a 300B instead, the current would drop further, say, below 1.6A. The circuit would then switch to 5V, and the threshold also doubles to 3.2A. There could be some brief back and forth, but as the filament gets hotter, the current will drop further towards 1.2A while the circuit stays at 5V output. It should be okay for a DIYer to build a clone for his/her own use, but integrating the same in a “DIY” unit that sells for an atrocious price at “the marketplace” would probably be a different matter. -

It appears that it at least comes with a full set of ink, not the “demo” set that inkjets tend to have. The quality so far on Koala satin is gorgeous. I have printed up to 11x17 so far. It’s just a lot of fun. -
Not today but yesterday I visited the urologist. He checked both MRI and CT visuals. Good news is I have no soft tissue damage, inflammations or polyps. Bad news is I have some more stones in my bladder. Not as big as I projected but he said they might clump together by time. And not only stones in my bladder, I have a hole in my wallet too. And it seems if I want them gone as painless and as soon as possible, the hole in my wallet will devour it completely. Hello healthscares! Goodbye the dream of upgrading espresso machine and grinder...

Did my first virtual ride on Zwift. It is very weird not to have to worry about steering the bike. I feel like I was in the matrix. It is pouring rain out, so yeah, I see the appeal of riding indoors. I also am able to tighten the pedal tensioners to their “death grip” setting because there is no falling off a stationary bike. I also noticed, while looking at what cadence other people ride at on Strava, that all of Brent’s Strava pictures are of food. You can’t make this stuff up. 😂

I have not listened in a few days, I think I overcompensated today. The End Continues by Spinal Tap (2025) https://album.link/wkfchxst380hj Example: A little croaky, but i think it is suppose to be. And fun. Winding down for a bit - Sweet for K by Tsuyoshi Yamamoto (2024) https://album.link/4gr3x3f9djhbs Example: Overall a lovely recording, each tune is presented really well. Taken as a whole it does become a little samey, a touch more variety track to track would have been nice. My first Tsuyoshi, and I like it. Still have Hardly Strictly on my mind Billy Strings - EP by Billy Strings (2016) https://open.qobuz.com/album/hys0x0fa5vicc Example: Just an EP so not too long... But fun. and just a Blue Note - of note. That’s Where It’s At by Stanley Turrentine (1962) https://album.link/nctnpggrt7ckg Example:

To honor Indigenous Peoples' Day I watched eight episodes of The Hunting Wives. It’s half General Hospital, half Baywatch, half Goodfellas, half Mean Girls, and half Stepford Wives with a sprinkling of real sexism & Red/Blue commentary. Sure it’s ridiculous and awful, but I’m not sure it’s bad.

@EdipisReks1 - it will be curious to hear your thoughts on ink consumption and cost to print. Looks like ~$100 to replace all 8 cartridges which honestly is not horrible. 13" maximum dimension (in one direction) coupled with 39" length could be fun to tinker with. -

Something I just learned that others might already know: Apple removed the secure erase function from Disk Utility because users where "damaging their SSDs." Something, you know, a warning popup might have solved. Now one has to go through Terminal to accomplish the same thing. I mention this now because I'm finally decommissioning some external HDDs from the early 2010s. -
Think of it as a layer of glue, not as a solder dome like with through hole. And don't worry, electrons will flow!

I watched a factory tour of some company that made DACs, maybe it was PS Audio, and they had a wall of shame by the repair bench that featured one that had been caked in a similar damping paint. Applying a sealant over a PCB that hasn't been cleaned is also a great way to make it much more likely that it will fail much sooner. Maybe this guy is a rogue employee from Acoustic Revive: Probably because of their glossy casework, seeing the inside of a Viva amplifier for the first time was the worst kind of surprising.
