  2. I still go back and watch this scene from time to time. The way Edge immediately gets up and moves to see Jimmy's hands, Giving no Fucks about blocking the camera and the crew. And Jack has to put his guitar down and give that oh so loving look... good stuff. I do wish that they just played together more, and just did a lot more of ^^ this. The movie could work in a much longer format. But this was before the Netflix mini docs. Thanks for the reminder.

I skew that chart considerably. Country and Classic Rock are two of my favorite genres. And I'm a very liberal Democrat.
  7. I needed a replacement pour over scale after my Amazon jobbie gave up the ghost and the replacement was subpar. Was leaning towards an Acaia Lunar or Lunar S given my experience with the Lunar that got bundled with the espresso maker. I decided to check out the Timemore Black 2.0 based on some input here and a bit of research. It was my first purchase on Aliexpress (Alibaba related...again based on a suggestion here). $43 which is hard to argue with. Took a bit to arrive but not terrible. So far it has been pretty good. It is responsive and accurate. Only thing I'm still getting used to is the Tare...it's a bit slow and you don't know you got it right...you have to have a split second of faith. Also, the springs / mechanisms that allow the scale to move and thereby calculate weight are a big "springy or spongy". Not a big deal but it takes away a from a solid feeling. My conclusion after only having it a week...good for the money. HS
  8. Not sure if this belongs here, but last night I watched a movie about Jimmy Page, The Edge and Jack White: It Might Get Loud. Published in 2009 and made in 2008. Can't believe I missed this one. Very much enjoyed hearing about the individuals and getting to see them jam was pretty cool. Jack White...special. LOL. HS

  10. I was investigating buying a set but the lack of warranty support to the U.S. has made me think otherwise. I have a 50/50 track record with estat headphones from smaller companies arriving without issue the first time.
  11. I dropped them a line to see if I can order a pair of the headphones. Also... it was never going to be just the 007A they would cut. I'm guessing any replacement will be double the price with worse performance.
  12. I've been told by more than one source that they put those "mistakes" in on purpose, same as they always labeled the balance pot "offset" and vice versa.

  14. I remember his role in Boys from the Black Stuff in the early 80's Gizza job - go on gizza job
  15. The Femmes sax player is Blaise Garza, and while he appears to play the entire range he bills himself as the Femmes' "Contrabass Saxophone Player". Seems like a CB! https://www.blaisegarza.com/gallery
  16. Nice! Love the Femmes and saxophone! I was wondering if that was a bass or contrabass; was thinking CB but there are some basses out there that are less compact, seemingly. That is an octave below a bari sax and TWO octaves below alto (which is what I play, and @Aura and @thrice and some others around here use to play, IIRC.) That thing is a beast; I love it.
  17. R.I.P Bernard Hill. Rest well, King Theoden.

  20. Seems that KSA1220AYS may also be replaced with TTA004B,Q? The latter also seems better.
  21. You had me at twelve-banger that redlines at 9500 rpm and weights 3440 lbs.... Sexxxxxy time! HS
  22. Now that I have some in-house comparisons, I can see the D700 greatness even more. (Sorry about colors, not made with it...) The NIB one on the right might just rest in its box or in a display cabinet until the end of time out of respect. Rest will probably have to go, but a user D700 is always good to have, just can't name any camera with a better out for that kind of money. Older cameras are still fun, but it must have felt like a quantum leap with regards to AF, handling and responsiveness from any previous model. And they've made various changes to later ones, which weren't really improvements overall, while also loosing the 'picturesque magic'. Keen to re-visit the 5D Classic, less weight will be welcome, but AF, metering, sensor performance etc. will be a big step back. Also got the Canon R8, one of the best compact photo/video travel cameras out there around the 1000$ mark. Some may find it a bit minimalistic compared to a R6 (II), but all the gripes I had with the RX1RII are not a problem with this. I just wish that beautiful Zeiss lens could be carried over somehow, and I need to use ES mode for silent operation.
