Introduced in 1982, the Buick Regal Grand National began life as a special edition honoring Buick’s back-to-back titles in NASCAR’s Grand National series. However, delivering just 125 horsepower, these race-inspired models left a lot to be desired. Just two years later, the car received an engine transplant that would eventually see it become one of the fastest models money could buy. Now, it looks like the Grand National is set to return, though this time it won’t be based on the Regal, and it won’t be a coupe. Citing an inside source, Edmunds is reporting that Buick is looking to launch a new Grand National sedan as well as new versions of the T-Type and GNX varia…

Hi, I'm Justin, and I'm going to be frank with you all. I'm here for something different. Over the past few years I've drifted from my friends as a result of changing work, lately I have very few people I can relate with. Music is the second most important thing in my life and yet I can rarely talk about it with good people. Perhaps I'm in the wrong place, maybe I'm not. I'm not here to beg for advise, I just want people I can talk to, and most importantly relate to. I've lurked for years, and know how things work around here. I hope that with time, I can get to know all of you. I apologize in advance for this rampant show of sincerity, I guess I might be a little d…

Hah! I finally got to be the first at something. It is officially your birthday day John, have a great one.............. I was not able to find any pictures of a Oswald Mills Birthday cake, or a JP Numbs birthday cake but Google found this for me. If you hate the picture blame Google not me.

  10. As some of you know, I have been training for the past couple months to participate in 165-mile cycling event from Miami to Key West on November 16 & 17th. The Smart Ride (this is the 9th annual event) raises money for direct service HIV/AIDs organizations in Florida, and what I like about this charity ride is that the cost of the event is covered by the riders' fees and donations from separate fund raising events, and 100% of the money raised by the riders goes directly to the organizations. Each rider agrees to raise $1250, and in my normal, lame, wait-to-the-last-minute style, I am just now starting to raise funds. A co-worker and fellow rider made the first don…

May the drinks be plenty and taste the best ever.... Happy Birthday gents!

  12. Yes, what the title says. I need help. Apparently, the almuni committee where I work voted, and I was chosen, among a few others, to be in a dunk tank for a fund-raising event tomorrow where alumni, family, and other staff puchase balls to throw. I have just been told I am supposed to heckle the throwers. This is sooooo not my forte. The only things I can think of to say probably are what got me in the voted in the dunk tank in the first place, but hardly heckles, or else wildly inappropriate things that would guarantee I'd never be in the dunk tank again, as I would have no more job. Anyway, have at it peoples. I know this is a talented bunch. Give me your best l…

Folks, I remember starting this thread on the old layout. I didnt see that again. I just wanted to share my experiences on handling Kenny G for the company I work for. He is doing a gigs in our corporate event and I'm the event coordinator. Have to admit he is one of the easiest celebrity to take care. No stupid request for his riders. A very nice guy, easily approachable and very down to earth. When he finished his performance, some of our premium clients wanted to take a picture with him and he graciously agreed "whatever you want....." is his comments when I ask for his permission. I'm his fan to a certain extent though not biggest fan. Despite his music which is hi…

The boy wants to be Dr. Horrible for Halloween and of course waited until now to figure out the costume. The "Howie" lab coat below is the preferred style, although buttons would be even better than snaps apparently, but to get it in time will be over $100 of shipping. Any of you scientific type 'Casers have access to such a coat that you could FedEx to me? Willing to pay but thinking that $100+ for shipping is a bit much. Let me know if you can help. Thanks.

I've always admired happily married couples, and enjoy reading their stories. Although I've never been married myself, I'd be interested in knowing how long many of you have been married. For better or for worse, I'd like to see how far we can get with a running total of years of marriage (past or present marriages). I'll start. 0 The next person can say 0 + 11 = 11. Then 11 + 3 = 14, and so on. Any stories you wish to share about how well (or not so well) your marriage decisions have worked out are welcome as well. Just thought it would be fun to celebrate the joys of matrimony en masse.

The Compact Disc is 30 years old - at least if you work back to when the platform first went on sale to punters. The first commercially release disc and player - respectively, Billy Joel's 52nd Street and Sony's CDP-101 - were introduced in Japan on 1 October 1982. The disc was released by Sony's recorded music subsidiary, CBS. http://www.reghardware.com/2012/10/01/compact_disc_is_30_years_old/ I remember first hearing about the CD when a fellow student enthused about this amazing new music format in an article in The Scientific American. He was amazed that thanks to built in error correction, you could drill holes in the disc, and it would still play! (according …
