Wild and Crazy Go Nuts!

  1. I opened my mail today and was shocked to find a letter from a debt collection agency (Wyse Financial Services, Inc.), demanding over $3000 in debt from a company called 'NCO Financial Systems' (never heard of them...). As someone who has no debts (I don't even use the 'credit' on my credit cards), it was clearly fraudulent, not on the part of the collection agency who on further investigation are legitimate, however on the part of the company/person demanding the debt, or someone attempting to use my name for identity fraud. Furthermore, my name was incorrectly spelled, and the apartment number was completely wrong (not even close to correct). I have obviously taken t…

I figure this'll get any kind bugs and server issues sorted out by posting this on the forums to get our server loaded. And for whatever reason, I don't get bugs on my end viewing with Safari, IE, Firefox or Opera...low and behold, somebody will get one(which I need to know about)....as it always happens. http://www.fitforkingsclothing.com It's STUPID simple and STUPID basic. We decided against anything even remotely complicated and wanted to keep a simple theme for things to be "off center" as we're both a little, well, off center, lol. We used some of our friends and random people as guinea pigs for the last site and some people thought it was too hard to navi…

I have a couple of items up on Audiogon. One item retails for $9000 (Still a current product) and I believe that I am asking a fair price of $5000. So I receive an offer for $3500. To me that is pretty serious Low Balling. Especially considering that the ad has only been up for a couple of hours. I could maybe see if the ad had been up for 3 weeks and the item hasn't sold yet, but for a new ad? If I were interested in a similar item I'd offer something like $4250 - $4500. A still substantial discount off the asking price, but not insultingly low either. So am I wrong in considering such an offer Low Balling?

I would like to move my cable modem and router into the office (one room over from the tv with not much of a wall in between) so to avoid having to use a splitter and remove clutter from the living room. However, most of our tv watching is watching steaming video through netflix or mlb on the ps3. Does anyone have experience wirelessly streaming with the ps3. The router I have is an newish Airport Extreme but I think the ps3 is restricted to wireless g (not 100% sure). I guess I could get an Apple TV for the living room if needed since I stream to those in other rooms and it seems to work well.

seems a little strange to me... 1) why in the world was the B52 picked! a person can put together at least 5 just as good whole rigs for that price. 2) um... how can a person raffle off something they dont' own? 3) at it's root, ticket holders are subsidizing the purchase of an amplifier for someone else, with little potential profit going to the charity. 4) Ray is getting to sell a 5K amp at full price, making more profit than any other party in this deal.

The ride is called "Toy Story Mania". This ride looks absolutely awesome. The rendering of the characters and special effects and the interaction from you by shooting targets on the screens as you ride through the attraction looks great I definitely want to check this out one day. http://news.cnet.com/1606-2_3-50002682.html?tag=rsspr.6242048∂=rss&subj=news

It could be argued that one of the root causes of the current problem was "faulty" risk analysis. Whether the risk analysis was faulty by design or intent is left as an exercise for the reader. The following post from comp.risks is posted verbatim as it seems to be so on topic - and apolitical. ***** A lot of the comments in RISKS-25.34 seem to imply that the people running the financial firms were stupid and/or careless in not doing a correct risk analysis. These people are not stupid or careless, merely greedy, unscrupulous and irresponsible. They did a careful risk analysis all right, and then made the decision to deliberately feed false information i…
