A few years ago JMoney Audio was going to produce HE90 headband/earpads in leather but it never came to fruition. Has anyone ever produced these in leather, or does anyone have a source for Sennheiser originals; specifically headband pad? When I checked a couple years ago Sennheiser no longer had these available and it seems JMoney gave up on the project. Sorry if this sounds silly but I've been out of the loop for a while, so any info is appreciated. Gary

After going throw allot of the headphones I decided to sell all my expensive gear and just settle for the hp2 with some cheap matching dac and amp. I was looking at the asgard 2 and ckIII to match maybe with the loki dac but have no idea on what amp should sound good with the hp2. Looking for suggestions.

Tyll seems to like them a whole lot. http://www.innerfidelity.com/content/i-love-these-headphonesthe-nad-viso-hp50 Color me interested. I suppose nobody else around here has heard them though. Some people say that are more open and brighter than the Momentum which would be nice.

My HD580 drivers (at least one) are dead and so instead of getting new drivers and fixing the old/used cans (which seem to be at least missing foamy pieces), I am thinking of picking up an HD600 from Justin for the office. I like the clamp of the HD600/650 for one - the HD580 is a little loose for me especially since it is used and a little stretched out. Before I do, I was wondering if there is anything else out there that I should consider (I am guessing no). I like that the HD600 are laid back and fairly neutral and comfortable. This is key for the office. I'll be using them with Pico DAC/amp or Nate's DIY Torpedo + Pico DAC. I briefly thought about getting…

When it rains it pours... I did a potentially stupid thing yesterday (took off the cover/earpad on the HD580 while music was playing) and now there seems to be some distortion* on the left side. It is definitely the headphones (I have switched out the amp/dac). Could this be anything more than getting some fuzz hair on the driver - I don't see anything obvious with the naked eye - or could there be some other damage since the driver was being used when I removed the cover? If there is some dust or hair, how do I get it off, especially if it is not obvious where it is? *I think it is distortion. When playing low bass, it buzzes a bit like really cheap speakers …

Hi, I'm new to this forum and would like some advice on getting a pair of budget headphones for a recording studio. I would like to use them for recording vocals mainly and it's important that the headphones are able to prevent a lot of sound leaking into the microphone. Ideally I would like the headphones to have a replaceable lead and be comfortable and pretty decent sounding. My budget is £50 max. I have done a reasonable amount of searching online over the past few days and have narrowed my choices down to Monoprice 8323 - £15 Superlux HD669 - £24 Superlux HD661 - £24 Superlux HD631 DJ - £36 Which of these prevents sound leakage most effectively…

Hey, I've recently stumbled upon someone selling Beats By Dre Pro for about 200 bucks. Seems like a bargain doesn't it? I know Beats aren't the best headphones, but I'd be happy to buy them for 200 bucks. He claims they are original and still in good condition. Says he has a receipt too. But you just can't be sure enough with all these fakes nowadays. In my opinion they seem pretty legit, but I'm just a newb. Can someone give me their opinion, do you think these Beats By Dre Pro are genuine? If you need more pictures to verify, please tell me. I'll ask him for some more. So here is an odd one. To try and improve the KingSound KS-H1 I need new earpads. Now I could just use Stax ones as they are about the right size but 150$ earpads on a 500$ headphone... That leaves me with dynamics and I'm well out of my comfort zone. What I need are 95-105mm earpads that are solid, leather or pleather. One thing that is never listed is the diameter of headphones so you give me some suggestions? Audio-Technica, Fostex/Denon etc. all make models that might work but I don't know the diameter of the pads.

Hello, Just picked up a set of HD600's. Did a solid hour long listening session comparing them to HD650's off an obnoxious $4500 McIntosh something or other CD player (just to be on the safe side, lol) at my local stereo shop.. Money no object, greatly preferred the 600's. Felt like the 650 simply added a driver with a bigger motor and some supporting mods, giving it more presence but overly so, making the finer details of the 600's appear warmed over. I will be predominately listening to classical, which was the genre where the major differences really made themselves known in my demo session. Felt like the 650's were more a money grab than anything else....anyway…

Hi everyone I need an earbud or portable headphone for walks and riding public transportation listening metal and rock, ocassional movie soundtrack music from Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and iRiver T10. Budget is around 90$. I want earbuds or portable headphones(on or over ear), do not want IEMs, can't stand them. Open or closed doesn't really matter. For reference I have been using Sennheiser MX460 for 5 years with a period of Sony MDR-AS30(really like this behind the neck design). I've been reading the forum for a few days now and checking the local stores and a couple of online ones to see what's available to me. I have narrowed the choice down to these models(of c…

I have recently been playing with the new sennheiser HD25 Aluminium 25th Anniversary edition Trimmed I have, since listening to them, pulled them apart to see what other changes they have made. The headband and cable are pretty much the same as the HD25-1 mk II but they have silver text on the headband and flatter hinged in aluminium to match the earcups. The cable clamp is now held in place with black t6 screws rather than silver philips screws which makes them a little trickier to pull apart as you can not longer use a standard screwdriver. Inside, the drivers seem to be identical and have the same impedance but have a different holographic seal on them. T…

So we are going to San Diego for vacation Saturday and it will be Molly's first airplane. Which means we need distractions. I've got some Disney classics and some kids tunes loaded up on the iPad, which means headphones. She turns 3 in August. They need to be comfy enough where she won't mess with them, small enough to fit a 3 year olds head, and cheap enough where I won't sweat it when she break them. Go.

First of all, hi! First post here. I have been using the HD202 for a while and became more interested in audio, I've been looking into two headphones the DT770 80ohms and the Shure's SRH840, what I've read is that the mids on the DT770 are recessed, so vocals wouldn't be as good as they should, and while some say the SRH840 are awesome and balanced, some say they are overhyped, I really can't choose between them. I've also looked into the HD600 this being more expensive and open, I don't want anyone around me to be able to listen to it, so I must ask compared to the HD202 how is the leakage on those? I listen to POP, Classic, and KPOP. The use for the headphone is…

After using low-end earphones so far, I finally decided to upgrade by buying Harman Kardon's NC. Being new to high-end headphones (or whatever they are) I have a quick question for you audiophiles.... It seems that sound quality in left and right (irrespective of the song & who is listening i.e. me or my wife) is slightly different. Overall sound quality when listening from both sides is just fine. But, I am wondering, if this imbalance is normal (what do I know about headphones?) OR is it a technical defect? Hoping for some genuine help!

I am thinking about sending a NIB pair of Grado 325is to Headphile and have them made into Vixens. Do any of you have a pair? If so, how do you like them compared to the unmodded unwoodied Grados?

I am thinking of getting another pair of AKG K271 again. I used to own them and mostly liked them. I think I remember that they were not quite as smooth as I would have liked in the treble and many a tiny bit lacking in bass but overall them were pretty neutral and very comfortable. Is there another pair of closed (full sized, comfortable) headphones that I should look at? I have the a pair of Thunderpants but don't love them and would like something more neutral. I have a couple of supra-aural cans (Sennheiser Momentum and Audio Technica ESW9) and I am not interested in those. I guess I also have a pair of Audio Technica ATH-900ltd that I let Tim use. I also …
