Hi all you Lalalanders! I'm doing the LA/OC Audiophile Society meet again, and would love to have any of you there who wish to come. Here's the official page. Hey guys, I'm planning to buy my first pair of "serious" headphones soon. And from what I've read/been told, I should respect people's opinions, but I should ultimately try any phones I'm considering personally in person. So I was wondering if there were any Head-fi people from the 50th state, Hawaii. I'm located on Oahu, Chinatown area. Is anyone out there willing to allow me to sample some of their gear? So far I'hve only planned to buy ceap KSC 75 and JVC Marshmallows to have a good portable and IEM. To see if I can handle walking around with something sticking in my ears. I don't think there are any Vancouver ppl but I would like to hear new gear! I might as well try to get some veteran Vancouver meet host from Head-fi to do an IC there and organize one but I was wondering if anyone here is interested.

Just an interest check to see if anyone would want to attend a meet in Charlottesville, VA. I could rent a mansion in wine country on ~30 acres for less than $200 per night. Events besides headphones/speakers could include getting drunk at a local vineyard, concert (schedules not released yet), Monticello tours, other crap etc. I would think sometime in August or September would be a good time. Local airport: CHO 70 min drive: Richmond (RIC) 2 hour drive Dulles (IAD) --> mass transit is available, but is annoying. Have to take a bus to the suburban metro station, take the metro into DC, transfer to the line for Union Station, and then take Amtrak south. Would…

Thrice threw a party, and it turns out it was mostly a head-case meet. I had a blast, and got to hear HE90s from a shuffle. My life is complete.

So, sorry to the Florida crew, but since I got here first, I thought I would start this thread properly Got here last night at 1130 and had a warm welcome by our host Grawk. Got down to business and broke out the HC Glencairn glasses and toasted to an enjoyable week with some Glenrothes and some Grande Fine Metaxa. The house is beautiful, all the kids and wives have run out to the beach, while me and Dan are on our computers and listening to the Kill Bill soundtrack. Should be a fun week coming up!!

I'm in the early stages of planning for a meet at my school, Rose-Hulman Inst. of Tech. in Terre Haute, Indiana. I've already posted this over on the 'Fi, but I thought it'd be a good idea to get some 'Casers there too! If space gets tight, I would give priority to people I know (or someone I know who can vouch for you.) Serving beef ribs slow-cooked for 8 hours in my Egg. I'm open to moving it somewhere else within 10 miles of where I live. Too many meets all over the state for me this year. Possible meeting to coordinate and help with the details of the "big" August meet @ LAX if anyone interested.

For the folks here who don't follow H-F, this is shaping up to be a very nice meet: Montreal meet at the FSI show! The Festival Son & Image is a big hi-fi expo held in Montreal every year that lasts 4 days (3 open to the public). We'd get an occasion this year to have a free booth for headphone enthusiasts sponsored by Sennheiser where we could expose our gear. It's still in preliminary stage of planning and I don't have anything to do with the organization of the meet this time, but it seems like a great occasion to promote the hobby in a speaker environment (and accept how inferior headphones are compared to good speaker setups ).
