Victory selfie with my dad and niece/goddaughter. My dad literally said "when is Spring Training?" and said maybe he should go next year. We're going to break the trend and win in 2015 even though it's an odd year.9 points

Put speakers on stands, put rack back in place. Should have a new dac tomorrow, so this is the last time I'll have the sony in my system I guess. My power cords are too short to put my conditioner on the bottom rack which is annoying. I noticed that for some reason my speakers dont have bass boost or eq knobs as detailed in the online manual. I never intended on using them, but is still surprising. 3am whisper volume right now. Playing around with positioning since the manual says to use a triangle which I never bothered with before. I put 3 layers of neoprene shop pads between each speaker. Carpet pad in reverse direction underneath each stand to maneuver into place as needed. Can't 'hear' the stands yet, which is good. But volume is very low at the moment. I dont think I'm going to paint or cover the stands, I like the current look. Glad this is finally in place. *edit* I forgot to post a picture of the inside of the stands earlier.4 points

No, my dad can only claim to be a Giants fan since 1958 when he went to the second MLB game on the West coast -- SF Giants versus LA Dodgers with my oldest brother. My dad grew up in San Francisco and was a Seals fan and recently admitted that before the Giants moved he had liked the Brooklyn Dodgers in the MLB. I have been a Giants fan for life as a result, and suffered through many A's victories in my youth, including their dominant three consecutive world series titles from 1972-74.3 points

Second game on the West Coast! Amazing. We'll give him credit for being a SF Giants fan since the "beginning" and forgive him for missing their first game. Good that he gave up on the Dodgers when they moved to LA. Nothing better than being a home town fan, being surrounded by the same, and actually being able to get to games.2 points

The breeder I bought Jax from sent an e-mail out this morning, they have one kitten left from their most recent litter: I don't need a second cat, I don't need a second cat.......2 points

Had lunch with Mother, Sister, Brother-in-law and (trying to be Vegan, because his girlfriend is) nephew. Good times, not the sort of thing you can do from 5000 miles away. Kudos to the staff who managed to rustle up something non meat, fish, egg, dairy, or cheese based in an Italian - gluten free pasta / pesto / veggies.1 point

Huge 'grats to the Giants and their fans. Al, what a great series - only sorry they didn't finish at home for you. Bum is a machine. My only thought on last night was, "Gordon had an inside the park HR if they sent him." Fantastic end to the 2014 season.1 point

I just had an idea for a phase-plug made out of an actual dagger, and speaker screws made out of those little spikes punk-rockers put on their jackets...1 point

Its that crappy music you kids listen to.... I actually had someone tell me that. I assume you mean the bit at the ~2o'clock position - I would not worry. That piece is only there to allow the MFR to "reverse mount" the speaker for certain applications. See image below. Any chance something brushed up against the speaker and moved that? I would be more worried about making sure it does not happen again for fear of what it could do to exposed tweeters.1 point

/\ /\ /\ /\ /\ This! I love spring training in AZ! The fans are all mellow and friendly regardless of the team, the beer is cold and all the seats are fantastic up close and personal. Ahhhh, just in case http://www.springtrainingonline.com/teams/san-francisco-giants-3.htm I know some great pizza and steak joints near there. Congrats Giants!1 point

Our year-old cat Joost was missing for the last week. It's pretty common for indoor/outdoor cats in the country to wander for longer periods than this so we weren't all that worried. We were surprised when our friends posted a "found cat" listing with a photo of Joost on Facebook yesterday. They live about five miles away from us. Needless to say he is happy to be home.1 point
