Here's one for Joachim It a low voltage version of the GR78xx Micro. It's only .45"(W) x .8"(H). It can run from 5V to 20V (with the right parts). I still need to do the negative. Here's what it looks like... I also re-did the layout of the larger version that can support up to 50V now. I can also do a supply that accepts these regulators, but pretty much any board designed for the LM78xx/LM79xx should support them.6 points

Maybe not Speaker Porn these days, but back In the day these were pretty hawt. Altec Model 19. Woofer: 15” 416 , Mid/high compression driver: 802 , Sectoral horn: 811 Very efficient: rated 104dB @ 4 foot sensitivity. Sound great with single watt SETs, but will still take 175 watts continuous. Too large for my current living room, been stored in my garage for years. Fired them up today....my neighbors were not amused.4 points

Unless the ruble is doing really well these days, I feel like $8 for a matched quad is about right.2 points

Edit: I've started collecting payments. Information is here Enough people have expressed interests where I am organizing a group buy. Here is the link to the spreadsheet to register interest and what you would like. I can also include mounting hardware for the XLR jacks and other parts. I plan on going through enclosuresandcasesinc.com and using their 175DT desktop case. I priced a custom length 6.8" case without any cutouts or finish and it was around $30 each if I bought at least 10. Currently getting a quote for machining and anodizing but it doesn't seem so bad if I get enough people. Here is what I've drawn up. Let me know if there's any egregious errors dynalo_front_TKD.pdf dynalo_front_Alpha.pdf dynalo_rear_encl.pdf dynalo_top_plate.pdf dynalo_bottom_plate.pdf The red text just indicates what I'd like laser etched, it doesn't mean it will actually be red. I'm in for 3 cases. If i get at least ten then ill edit this post and start a spreadsheet. Yes, it crimps both wings at the same time. First you crimp conductor (wire), then you crimp insulator with larger die that is close to holders. I was looking at Engineer PA-09/20 as well, but it doesn't have separate die for crimping insulator. Regarding width, I cannot measure it at the moment. But I always use Molex, e.g.lock header 22-11-2022 + crimp terminal connector 0008550131/0008550130 + lock housing 0009508023. Fits perfectly. I also used it with TE Connectivity connectors which are Molex analogue.1 point

First off fuck Jude and head-fi, if you really want a good reception for your electrostats, talk to folks who are very intimate with e-stat gear, Birgir (aka spritzer), Kevin and Wachara, if you pass the test and take on feedback for any constructive criticism (feedback) from them, then I'm sure people will like what they will hear. Before any of this happens, you have to cut the bullshit first followed by facts. Though I have to be honest, the headphones do look kind of cheaply designed and built.1 point

My yggy was in for a Gen V upgrade when the analog upgrade got announced so I decided to get it done. I was thinking of selling after the Gen V upgrade since I'm happy with the Holo lvl 3 (and SFD I MKII). Get it back tomorrow so we'll see how it sounds...maybe I'll keep all three DACs.1 point

Hey you could get there.. just do a normal passive preamp and stick the Megatrons tube complement on top and run the heaters. I mean it would look pretty? right Edit:: OMG I just started imagining the tube rolling options..1 point

Yea, that must explain it. I had been warned that the BH BJT runs really hot, so was expecting more heat from it. So far, it is maxing out at 39 °C on the heat sinks, and 45-48°C on hottest silicon. Carbon is running 3-5 degrees hotter. Of course, both cases have pretty large heatsinks due to single PSU/AMP case design, which probably helps. <FEAR> Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! </FEAR> Must resist even reading Megatron thread. Must repeat to myself: I do not need another amp. I do not need another amp. I do not need another amp......1 point
