I swapped to the 009S a few months ago. It’s not better - just different flavour which happens to suit my tastes better. Maybe slightly fuller sound overall and less toppy with my new amp:6 points

Received that Saxonia, and I’m over the moon about it, not only does it look and feel amazing, but the winding is very enjoyable, turning its crown makes a ratchet sound with a reassuring movement, then it kind of springs back slightly when stopping the wind. The only thing I would change which is what I’ll be having done is its strap, I got another strap for my JLC because I was having a problem with its, this other strap I got from Toshi Straps Uk, and I like it much more than the ALS’s, but apart from that I just love this Saxonia. Anyway here are some photos which includes the packaging it came in, because I’m very impressed with it. The 37mm Saxonia probably looks big on me, but that’s because I have thin wrists, 6.25”.5 points

Not sure how you can outperform SR-009...even a tweaked up Variant, the 009S isn’t any better. The 009S is said to be personal preferences things, and from my point of view, it is exactly that. However, for ultimate performances, I would say 009 is a much more matured version of 009S, and to me, the 009 is clearly the true flagship. I also think it isn’t funny when people is interviewing about E-stats and not talking about the amplifier which it the Major thing of the technology.2 points

It looks like a good strap, just not the best fit. Maybe on the seiko (which is a nice watch, btw). I think the more sporting strap would look really nice on it.1 point

Last I heard it was going to be less snow, but more sleet/freezing rain....then a massive chill coming Monday..... My wife and mother-in-law were supposed to fly to FL tonight, when we first saw the snow delaying until later Saturday night, she decided not to try and get an earlier flight. She just found out this morning it was cancelled. They are now tentatively going out Monday morning....hoping the roads will be OK and they can make it....1 point

Nope, it sold for 2.1million, then straight back on the market for 1.8million (not a few days later, next day). That listing was for a couple of cycles then the price lowered again to open for bids. Sold for about 1.7million but right back up on the market. Yeah...something is very, very fishy here. It's not uncommon for something to sell for silly money and then be back up for auction a few days later. This is not that...1 point

I completely forgot that my dad was one class year behind Carol Channing at the same elementary school, middle school and high school. He reminded us and said that he remembers her well from those years.1 point

That's super cool, the saxonia at 37 is such a perfect dress watch. An they do the same quality of finish on it that is applied to Grand complications unlike other highly regarded watch makers.1 point

In my previous post, I said there was no point getting myself into debt for a Saxonia, however I’ve also said that that ALS is one of my dream watches, so I’ve thought if I could easily make a loan repayment then I’d get one. Now I enquired about a service cost of my JLC Master ultra thin from a place I’d got watches from, and they quoted £750, ( the service was being done by JLC ) this place also had a Saxonia thin 37mm in white gold available. So I asked this place rather than have my JLC serviced, would they accept that JLC as it is, in part exchange for that Saxonia, which they said they would, they also made me an offer for my JLC I was happy with. I then asked about a loan from my bank, and was able to get one with a decent interest rate. What this means is the monthly repayment is an amount I can easily make, so I should be getting that Saxonia in the next couple days.?1 point
