  1. Finished editing and processing my recordings of 2018's Monterey Jazz Festival. Here's a few cuts. Christian McBride Trio with Benny Green's flyin fingers. Fred Hirsh with an awesome Beatles variation. And Dianna Reeves joins McBride's trio on the Arena stage

Not ready for official orders yet. I am currently delivering a couple dozen units to some of our local customers who have placed their orders since last year. Birgir and Wachara will be among the first to get theirs internationally, hopefully by the time their opinion is out we will be ready for international orders. Will be an epic fail if they don't like it.
  4. Common mode rejection is critically dependent on resistor tolerance in a balanced amplifier like the OPA1632. I'd have to look it up but I think 0.1% resistors will mean a CMRR of -60dB. And at that level you need to make sure they thermally track too, and have very low voltage coefficient. All that hoohah with discrete component tolerance and CMRR is why THAT have adopted everything on a chip with laser trimmed resistors and bootstrapping to make the common mode impedance huge. The InGenius devices get to -90dB CMRR, the only real disadvantages are the pretty average SNR of -105dBu because the internal impedances are in the tens of k range and 5ppm distortion. That is where the OPA1632 with truly impressive low noise of 1.3nV/rootHz and ridiculously low harmonic distortion of 0.22ppm wins big time.
  5. RIP TIM. McHale's Navy is really what I think of first...

You know, even if it ends up being an "epic fail" as you describe it, you still seem to have made a product where you account for everything (within reasonability). The product does not appear rushed, you are not price gouging etc. You've used a lot of time and knowledge in making the product a reality, so I feel confident that EVEN IF the product is bad you will still use it as a stepping stone for making even greater products in the future. Making a bad product isn't an issue, never making a better one is Just some encouraging words from someone who is very much looking forward to the headphone, and who will most likely buy one regardless of what consensus ends up being.

We did end up buying the hand made, foam and latex free bed. It was over the top, but, after daily back pain for years, to suddenly realize my back has not hurt since the day we got it has made the price worth it.

They are definitely not free, though this is Head-Case ... We're still happy with ours, and I'd buy it again. I'd describe it as being cozy austere, and the temperature regulation is the part I like the most. At the end of the year they sell the floor models for 30% off which can make it a little more reasonable. And if a floor model mattress is creepy, the toppers are replaceable - and they are supposed to be replaced every 4 to 5 years which is an added expense to consider as those are not free, either.

This is what we have and it's the best I've ever slept on. Think it's one of the sprung models. They have a store on the Peninsula if you want to try out. https://www.thenaturalmattressstore.com
  10. IIRC, years ago I used the IRC 0.1% resistors to build my first Dynalo. I measured each of the resistors when I received them and I was not impressed with the accuracy and the tolerance of those I received. I have since adopted the practice of spending the same (or less) money and buy large quantity of good quality 1% resistors and hand pick and match them. Personally I think I have better outcome with the latter practice.

My wife is awesome. For our engagement, I bought her the ring, and she bought me a pair of Legacy Classic Kevlar's. The coherence of that speaker to sound almost like a point source was amazing. Long since sold as house/room redesign made these impossible to place...but always loved the Legacy sound (still have a pair of Studio HD's as well).

I've been sleeping on a new hybrid mattress from Sealy called the Gilded Breath. I'm not much of a bed/mattress critic but I am a side sleeper. This is a mid priced mattress with a pillow top and multi layers of foam on a conventional spring base. IIRC I paid about $770 on sale. Like I said, I'm not very critical of what I'm sleeping on but so far so good (about a month).

I think you get can sheep intestine as a latex alternative these days.
