I imagine most Mac users are aware that Catalina will be the first osx that is 64 bit only. What that means is that some older applications/executables that haven't been updated from 32 bit to 64 will no longer work once 10.15 is installed. IMHO it's kind of crazy that developers haven't updated their apps considering the 64 bit handwriting has been on the wall since before 2011. Anywho, if you want to check your system for 32 bit apps you depend on and need to replace, here's a free app that will let you know where you stand. Just point it at your Applications folder (it's default will start checking it automatically) and maybe your plugins folder (root level Library>Audio>Plugins). I was happy to find only 31 apps/plugins that need some updating in my system. https://www.stclairsoft.com/Go64/index.html1 point

^^ They have a couple of very cool songs. I have added them to my list of upcoming purchases. Yesterday I received the four albums of Gogo Penguin. "Fanfares" (reléase 2012)1 point

I hate to thank youtube algorithms but they send me down a very nice Yes hole. I follow the Lost in Vegas reaction vids. has helped expand my hiphop depth. but they cover all types - they reacted to Yes - Roundabout. One of my very early intros to Yes back in the 80s - after 90125. So: Which lead to the following. And --- Lots of great isolated tracks in that one and real technique breakdowns. And of course - just some good tunes. I don't expect many to listen to them all - but thanks youtubes.... Cheers1 point

Me: been listening to this: It's kind of all over the place stylistically. I've been listening to the Contemporary Psychedelic playlist on Tidal, and I almost forgot that I wasn't listening to it. I dig it.1 point

My sister bought a MacBook Air from @strid3r, she’s extremely happy with it. I bought a MacBook Air, myself. This one: https://www.microcenter.com/product/507657/macbook-air-md711ll-b-116-laptop-computer-pre-owned---silver I’m pretty happy with it, but I’m not running Cubase or DJ software on it. I’d definitely look for 16G on a mini or MBP or some such if you’re going to go back to a 2014 model.1 point

Oh wow. For some reason Blade Runner (so much better than Philip K Dick's book "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep on which it was based) seems so damned recent - but it was 1982, when Hauer was 38 and Harrison Ford was 40. Such an iconic movie. I shall watch The Director's Cut tomorrow to honour Hauer's passing. Damn. 75 is too damned early to go. RIP Rutger. Odd fact - the director was Ridley Scott, who was born and brought up not far from where I was born and brought up in the North East of England. The heavy industrial landscape with flames belching from chemical and steel works lighting the night sky when he was a child found their way into the opening sequence of Blade Runner.1 point

My order for the Reverso 1931 was delivered today, and I love it. Not only is it very nice looking, imo, it’s also extremely comfortable, and although it’s 8 years old it looks brand new. The only slight niggle I have, is with it being used the previous owner(s) had the flip side engraved seen in the photo which I’m not that keen of, other than that I couldn’t be happier. For now I’m going to enjoy the JLC as is, plus I don’t have to look at the flip side, but I’m going to enquire via the place where I bought it, on whether that could be done in the photo below which allows the movement to be seen. Another thing I like about this Reverso, is it looks very different to the Saxonia, apart from it having a black alligator strap and similar coloured metal. Just 4 more photos. ?1 point
