While walking around Hollywood last week I had some guy selling watches out of his van offer me a Rolex GMT Master at a huge discount due to some dirt and blood on the bracelet.
Great deal for me but a bit odd. Proof that the bricks and mortar retail model is dying.
I now own 2 of them (*)....especially when driven by Doug's/ECP's DSHA-3F, it is perhaps the best dynamic system I've heard.
(*) I had one, and bought a used one for an insanely good price with the intention of giving it to my son for his birthday and holidays; but he seems to like the Elear with its warts, and the Clear sounds pretty nice out of the RME ADI-2....we'll see, he may choose them anyway
Some good news on my side. I was able to successfully test the GR79xx board.
Here's a picture of the GR7915 (left) next to the GR7815 micro (right).
I've only tested against my DC shop supply but it performs as expected so far
RIP Caroll Edwin Spinney, better known as Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch. Big Bird is perennially six years old but Carroll made it to 85 after 50 years of playing and voicing two of television's most memorable characters.

Elear has an edge to it in the upper mids/lower highs to my ears....admittedly a very short listen. Clear is a lot like what Tyll said about it IMO: a little more balanced tonally than the Utopia even, though it lacks that eerie-good transparency of the Utopia.
I've never heard it, just read about it; but some of the tonal issues with the Elear are supposedly slightly better in the Massdrop Elex. But like the Clear vs Utopia, not as transparent a sound for Elear/Elex as compared to the Clear.
Thank you! This is my first foray into non-fiction, not including thesis papers. It's hard work! Not that fiction isn't, too; there is a reason I never finished my "great American novel."
Well, also, my "great American novel" wasn't very good. So, there are two reasons why I never finished them.
Well that was fun (not). I'd booked to have a minor op to the middle finger of my right hand today, originally when Carole was going to drive me there and back. In the meantime of course she broke both wrists. So I had it done anyway. So now between the two of us we have only one functioning arm .
Still numb with local anesthetic, I expect it will throb a bit when that wears off.
