  1. I should really start moonlighting as a barista
  2. Thanks for reporting this, it's now fixed.
  3. Fuckkkkkkkkkk. RIP to a great woman. I can't wait to read Associate Justice Ted Cruz's nuanced opinions.
  4. As a Pink Floyd fan, with my favorites being mostly pre-1972, this is just fantastic (that is really what I think! 😄)
  5. Looks like you've lost a few lbs since the last time I saw you Ric (except around the chest maybe?)!
  6. Tested the 21st Century Maida Regulator as a Bias 580V regulator. Got 558 V with the components I had at hand. It takes about 15 seconds to reach desired voltage. To be continued (maybe).
  7. Went to a Halloween store with Esmé. They seem pretty optimistic this year is going to be like every other Halloween. Except the big costume for the ladies seems to be Sexy Black Death/Plague Doctor.

  9. (far too many) Cadbury Fingers @ Ross Common (Not shown, accompanying Tea) Context / Significance, for the uninitiated. I think I'll have another (or several) for RBG.
  10. Added to my listening list on Qobuz.
  11. This may be the worst of what 2020 has to offer given the lasting impact this could have on our highest court.
  12. RIP RBG What an inspiration and blessing to follow her career!
  13. McConnell is promising a vote before January. We're fucked. RIP RBG, you badass.
  14. Fuck Fuck Fuck. RIP to an incredible woman, and incredible PERSON. And RIP to the sanity of the Supreme Court. I only wish (hope) that they could delay a new judge the same way they did it to Obama....
  15. So sad. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Glad someone figured out tube pins could be used for decent Stax sockets
  17. RIP ruth bader ginsburg https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nytimes.com/2020/09/18/us/justice-ruth-bader-ginsburg-dies-at-87.amp.html
  18. Draft of BIAS 580V regulator. Works in LTspice. After the voltage doubler is a Maida regulator. Q1 is a to247 mosfet, C1-3 are 27.5 mm film caps and rest of parts are surface mounted. For Maida regulator see: https://www.ti.com/lit/an/snoa648/snoa648.pdf?ts=1600430373786&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2F https://www.diyaudio.com/forums/vendor-s-bazaar/209067-21st-century-maida-regulator.html https://neurochrome.com/collections/power-supplies/products/21st-century-maida-http://www.pmillett.com/HV_reg.html

  23. I've been trying to up my barista art game. I can do ribs semi-reliably. I should probably use fattier milk for better results.
  24. Tip for the future - in situations like that look to flip the larger component on the bottom of the board. As long as you are using standoffs that will allow for clearance to the chassis it ends up with less of a cramped situation and the potential for leads to get closer to things than you would like.
  25. Thanks to a few people on here, I managed to dodge getting boards made and managed to buy existing boards for all the bits I need. I am still waiting on a delivery tom come in over the next week or so with the CFA boards and a few other bits and bobs but have received some GRLV boards and a set of v1 attenuator boards and a v2 board. I have done some SMD work in the past with the soldering iron but thought I would up my game this time round and give a hot air rework gun a go. Kerry sent me 2 v1 attennuator boards - 1 already populated and one bare, as well as all the parts to build it, so I finally pulled my finger out today and built it up -
  26. RIP Ram Dass....a legacy of love.....
