  3. Disabling all the safeties? Where have I heard that before? https://www.quotes.net/mquote/116836 It didn't seem to end well.

  5. I got the code working to measure the platter speed! The sensor is still wonky - maybe I need to build a shroud around it.. Maybe I just built a ghost sensor! That would explain a lot... maybe this is the newest fad in audio accessories

  9. I don't know from a gerber perspective, but could you save the soldermask layer as an image file and invert that using a graphics program?

  11. I think that caps that big can be very dangerous. So if you are going to use them, find a way to make sure you can never come in contact with either of the terminals.

  12. Well it's definitely a new thing for me to file away in my diagnostic toolbelt. I'd had problems with the seat switch before, but not anything else. I didn't even know it had a solid state module managing the various safety switches. Edit: I did get a nice surprise from the fingers unintentionally touching the wire when I held the spark plug against the block to see if it was getting spark after I unplugged the safety interlock module though. That was entertaining.

  14. Had the lawnmower suddenly die on me out of nowhere today. Couldn't get it to start back up even with starter fluid, replaced the spark plug since it's been a while, still nothing. Spent a good chunk of time troubleshooting, narrowing it down to an ignition problem, and tracing out the wiring on it and eventually found that the safety interlock module failed and was keeping the magneto's kill wire grounded. Fortunately to finish up today I could just unplug the damn thing and it would run again, albeit with all safeties disabled. Gotta get a replacement for that before too long though...

  17. Michael, Check out the Rossman group videos on YouTube. He does a review of some hot air stations. He likes the Quick, but I believe he has one from Atten which is cheaper and performs just as well.

  18. Here is a version with FJPF2145 in stead of 2SC4686 and 01N100D replacing 2SA1968. The file name is xxx_Mouser to indicate components are available at Mouser. Yesterday I completed the left side board and I’m listen to it this very minute. I’m very pleased with the outcome.
