  2. Anyone come across The Beast of Turn. A 1911 Fiat S76. 110 years ago it held the land speed record at 185 mph. over 28 liter engine, four cylinders each one more than 7 litres. The guy that restored it bough the only two that were ever made, in rusted out total basket cases. He then spent ten years making a complete car, totally original in all respects. Watch the flames from the exhaust.

  5. Brats, potato salad, chips and dips and other assorted goodies that Dorothy got. Having cake, strawberries and cream later. I found out that my gay gene didn't override my grilling gene. I grilled the brats and corn on the cob, and it was awesome. Believe it or not it's my first time ever grilling. Yes Al, I remembered to turn off the grill.

  6. The Leftovers I'm so glad I gave this show a second chance. It is magnificent. The first four to five episodes are a slog. Don't be discouraged. It takes the show a while to find its footing. The premise is weird and the characters start out unlikable. Stick with it though! Two things I think are done exceptionally well here are showing you plot events that won't be explained until many episodes down the line and the use of music to really drive the big emotional moments. The show is by no means unique in doing these things, I just think they do them fantastically well. The show also doesn't overstay its welcome. Ending it after the third season was perfect.

  9. Hello all, Carbon finally done, tested and buttoned-up - sounds great and very quiet. This was indeed a fun & satisfying project. I would like to specially thank the following members for all their generous assistance with this challenging build (my first high voltage electrostatic amplifier) Kerry, sweetleaf, mwl168, jamesmking and JoaMat never worked with SMD's before and needed A LOT of help to debug & trouble shoot issues with the GRHV/LV power supplies, and could not have gone that far without tapping from your guys invaluable experience and know-how. There is only so much one can find inside the forums without getting lost. Thank you for all your patience with my million newbie questions and guiding me in the right direction. I learned a lot from this project and built some additional confidence for the next one. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1FkZ7RoqedCKawiJt-7tgDJJX6AZyXC9Q/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/18HvzLtLvBteYe1kmUapJWf5N8k0qjX_m/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1BstEhS5A36FX8IedeIkk08jyVrDj30ld/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1iJm0reOXiFpjoqV2hYRZgmjf5-uaMpIn/view?usp=sharing Please let me know if there are a few tweaks that I can do to improve the layout, tried my best to keep it compact in a 2U chassis while separating the power supplies, wiring from the signal to lower noise, etc.. I welcome criticism, every experience is a lessons-learned.

  11. 100 years ago today: Also, at over 40 minutes this is a much longer time commitment: One of my favorite analyses The Shining. It makes a nice followup to the 2012 documentary Room 237. Also if you ever want to go off the deep end into flat earth/faked moon landing levels of conspiracy theory delusion, do a bit of dig on YouTube for fan theories on The Shining. It goes from zero to batshit insane real fuckin' quick.

  12. Washed the sails for the Laser and don’t think they will last much longer. Have one tear I have to patch and a batten pocket that is loosing its stitching. No clue if there is even a local sailmaker. I am guessing they are 20 years old, original to the boat.
