  1. "Diaphragm" side of stator. Zoom in and you can see the structure of net (copper??). Stator with plastic ring. Outer diameter 94mm and inner 84mm. Thickness of diaphragm ring is 0,95mm on my digital caliper, so I would say spacer thickness 0,5mm. To me spacer material looks like aluminium.

  2. Sorry Andy, no review or opinion from me. We have to wait for the trusted - Birgir. I just tear things down, a bad habit. P.S. I think SR-X9000 is the best headphone I’ve listened to. I haven’t listened to original Omega or HE90.

  3. Finally got all the stupid rods cut and painted so I can start putting the frame together for the dog crate. Hoping to have time tomorrow in the last of the warming weather to get it all nailed together and try to spray on some stain and poly.

  5. Julie Green: https://www.nytimes.com/2021/11/05/arts/julie-green-dead.html Six tacos, six glazed doughnuts and a Cherry Coke: That was the last meal of a man executed in Oklahoma in July 1999. Rendered in cobalt blue glaze on a white china plate the next year, it was the first in Julie Green’s decades-long art project, “The Last Supper,” which documented the final meals of death row prisoners around the country. * * * In 2001 in Indiana, a prison granted an inmate’s request to have his mother make him chicken dumplings in the institution’s kitchen. Professor Green painted the word “Mother” on the platter that pays homage to that meal. ... In Georgia in 2009, a mentally disabled inmate asked for half a pecan pie. He didn’t understand the concept of execution, and he intended to save some of the pie to eat afterward.

  7. I am using the same connector system, it indeed is a nice one. Panel side connector can be mounted inside the panel on up to 3mm thick panels as the plug does not screw all the way down.

  9. How do they sound to you JoaMat? These seem interesting to me, could sell the original SR-Omega for lots of money and buy these 😁.

  10. Thanks for posting that Doug, I don’t get enough art in my life these days and that was a touching piece.

  11. It looks like the earth wire is not connected to anything. Probably someone had a ground loop and disconnected it in an attempt to solve that. There's a pretty extensive thread on these at SBAF.

  12. If it's the same guy that used to refurbish them, he no longer does. He had a year long waiting list back when he did work on them. I bought my M22 because it was already refurbished by him.

  13. Before launching it somewhere definitely get some batteries for the volt/ohm meter and check the fuses the right way (not visual) as one or more of them could be shot and you just can't see it. It'd also be good to check to make sure power is actually getting to the amp and then see if it's getting beyond the switch (like Kevin suggested) and then check a few other things. Hard to imagine that it just went poof one day without any sign/smell/etc.

  14. While they are some serious bars, I laid them out horizontally and used metallic sparkle paint to make it appear less jail-like.

  19. Yeah, I listened to ERR all in one sitting, it was sublime. Re: Aimee Mann -- oh. She's settled into a nice comfy singer-songwriter niche, which I find worth listening to once in a while, but if she's not your thing, don't force yourself. I thought I remembered you liking her. Only semi-unrelated: really looking forward to Chelsea Wolfe/Converge

  20. Listened to this split between yesterday and today. Not at all what I would’ve expected after On Dark Horses, the Staying Power single and her collaborations with Thou. That said, it’s Emma Ruth Rundle, so it’s no surprise that it’s outstanding! Aimee Mann has not been someone I’ve revisited much since the Magnolia soundtrack, if I’m honest. But with more time to listen with my new job, I’ll dive in next week!

  22. Yikes, not good. I hope Tim and Apple un-fuck this shortly. I'm scrounging up cash (returning bottles and then knocking over the liquor store) to buy an M1 Macintop shortly.

  24. I don't know when those people died but it is pretty much despicable that the show was allowed to go on for an hour and ten minutes even though the crush started immediately, local officials called it a mass casualty event thirty minutes into his set, and an ambulance entered the crowd at that time to remove somebody, which was visible onstage. Going forty more minutes after that seems incredible.
