  3. So, the A-Maze-N was a bit of a fail. I left the pellets outside not really thinking about it and I think they absorbed water. They just wouldn’t stay smoking. Things turned out well enough despite no smoke flavor. Today, I did three different quick pickle variants and just got them in the fridge:

  4. The Streets -- A Grand Don't Come For Free One of those classics that you forget about and then every time it comes up on the playlist you are, like, OMG I can't believe I haven't listened to this for this long!

  5. did a load test of a stock GRLV configured for +/-20V, using a lab supply as source . Unloaded 20.0556V out, and at 4.25A it drops to 20.0333V - caused by the resistance of the trace (between sensing resistor and terminal block) itself. Seems to be stable regulating as long as the voltage drop across the pass transistor is > 3V (Kevin recommends > 4V though). Also going above 1.5A one might benefit from upping the current to the driver transistor (Kevin mention this earlier in this thread) and using larger caps. The largest I can find that fits is this https://www.mouser.dk/Passive-Components/Capacitors/Aluminum-Electrolytic-Capacitors/Aluminum-Electrolytic-Capacitors-Snap-In/_/N-75hr0?P=1z0j7l0Z1z0x3saZ1yx4awyZ1yx4atvZ1ypb2ikZ1z0vn3sZ1z0wqdeZ1z0wqf4 Using a 24VAC 100VA transformer, I get almost the same. At 4.2A the regulation drops at 4.2V Vce (21.6VAC input). Seems like > 4V (as Kevin has stated earlier) is what is need when < 1.5A, and more like 7v if approaching 4A (and raising the current for the driver)

  7. According to the datasheet for the MJW21194, they are rated up to 16A. I wonder how far the GRLV can be pushed. Could it power a First Watt F5?

  8. I bought a 55 inch 4K Sony XBR tv on a black friday deal and I'm still pretty stoked every time I watch a good looking show. I paid about $760 for it and it looks like it's still just under $800 on Amazon. It was a little more than I wanted to pay but I'm glad I did. I still haven't watched any 4k content (can't say why since I have a free 4k movie coming). It comes with Android TV so I was able to use my Roku for my old tv which is in the master bedroom. The remote is pretty clunky but I keep meaning to learn on of the free ios remotes available. I agree with what Nate said about the prices on 4k tv's. They are the norm these days and I'm kind of amazed that I could get such a big, cool tv on my budget. https://www.amazon.com/Sony-XBR55X800E-55-Inch-Ultra-Smart/dp/B01MSD6HHV/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1515003472&sr=8-2&keywords=sony+xbr55x800e

  9. because soren is running the grlv supply at 4.5 amperes, here is a new version with the feedback resistor locations flipped so that the sense is not one inch away from the output connector. sense is now tied directly to the inner power supply connector. So the 20mv change in voltage due to current should be completely canceled out. for higher currents, best if the board is made with 3 oz copper. goldenreference6drflip.zip

  10. How huge will the class action lawsuit be... lol We'll all probably get $20 or a discount on a new Intel cpu.

  11. A friend gave me this cool t-shirt. It's a patent drawing of a Jensen headphone from the late fifties/sixties. A little before my time. Did anybody know the story of these things? We're they an innovation? Did they ever amount to anything?

  12. Um ... https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/capital-weather-gang/wp/2018/01/02/monster-storm-to-blast-east-coast-before-polar-vortex-uncorks-tremendous-cold-late-this-week/? Could make some crack about it being 60 degrees in CA today, but we catch on fire far too easily to start throwing regional shade.

  13. Nah. This pair is now dedicated to skating, and I'm getting a sort of perverse pleasure out of slowly destroying them. Stretch cordura ftw, the stitching is blowing out faster than the fabric. I tore one of the rear pockets halfway off during this session. Sadly no.

  14. Hmmm, low fi headphones and god only knows what upfront rig was used? Hardly a good "test". And as spritzer said, crappy music for the most part.

  17. I´m sure that Opa is OK,I have changed it three or four times. Sorenb, yes I measure -3.23volt across R9 and 10V across R10. I was work on this área and I changed R9, R10, 1N914 diodes and C3. I´m not sure but I found this: Probably has nothing to do but who knows... I measured C3 and it´s 9,8uF but I changed it for other. Finally: Thanks for your help and patience boys
