Got a loaner Gilmore Lite MKII from Justin for a local Atlanta meet and this is a great sounding little amp. I'm very impressed by its clean dynamic and sheer sense of power for such a very desktop friendly amplifier driving my HD800 (black dragon upgraded cable). I also got lucky that my old Headroom DPS (dedicated/dynamic power supply) happen to work perfectly with the Lite MKII. Justin also confirmed it and the background is blacker while the sense of depth is better with a dedicated power supply. Great amp!
The winter appears to be finally over so I picked up the new Beemer from winter storage. The Klim Badlands Pro is really hot in traffic, even with all the vents open. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
CALIFORNIA BURGER Fried egg, swiss cheese, Zoe's bacon, arugula, balsamic onions and mayo on a toasted egg bun. BLUE CHEESE BURGER Point Reyes crumbled blue cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles & secret sauce on a toasted egg bun. SWEET POTATO FRIES Chili spice-dusted & served with house-made ranch.
oddly builds in the 70s and 80s were largely maligned - my friend had a 74 clear finish LP that was just so so but by contrast my friends 68 335 was dynamite sounding
Got the amp assembled
After cutting some leads and removing the IEC screws, everything fit fine. There's some small gaps here and there, but at this price point I think it's acceptable and you wouldn't really notice unless you look really closely.
After running it for a couple hours the case can get pretty warm. Even the potentiometer starts feeling warm. I'll try it without the top cover to see what i get. Either way, the next revision is getting a lot more holes.
