  1. Happy Birthday! Haven't seen that name for a while indeed.....
  2. Wife, son and I did a 5k walk today for charity; despite a knee that is acting up, it was a nice time, and registration money goes to charity. Then, nice day spent at my mothers, with two brothers and all families (less two kids away). Now, just resting at home, debating if I want to take a nap at 8pm, or stick it out a bit and go to bed at a semi-normal time. Hope everyone celebrating has/had a good and safe Thanksgiving!
  3. F-ing scary, we're getting there, but funny as heck!
  4. Happy Birthday Two Ewe
  5. Saw a great triple-header last night in Cambridge (TT The Bears): - The Curtain Society - great local group, been around since the late 80's - Black Swan Lane - excellent wall-of-guitar-sound band influenced by the Chameleons, most of them from Manchester where the Chameleons came from - ChameleonsVox - Mark Burgess and John Lever from the Chameleons, plus others All 3 bands were fantastic, with one of the guitarists from Black Swan Lane doing double-duty with ChameleonsVox. The music was loud, tight, and with that impromptu feeling of a good live band (IE, not always 100% true to recoding, but creative and always entertaining). I also had a feel-good moment when I finagled a backstage visit for a woman I met; she had just got out of the hospital after a month-long visit due to bacterial menengitis (and near death). She has been a Chameleons fan for > 20 years but had never seen them or the solo spin-offs; and the look on her face when they performed was awesome. Getting her and her sister backstage was amazing for them and me (I've been lucky enough to meet Mark before, but meeting the others was great as well). All in all, a fantastic night, though I'm paying for it now....even 2 cups of coffee later.
  6. Good luck, Shelly, and definitely let them know they screwed up.....people get very nervous when something is done wrong and medical issues are involved..... I have learned, through my wife and her past issues, that one needs to be a strong self-advocate in all things medical. Hope it works out OK, and nothing bad was done.
  7. That IS nice.....and a built-in tank is indeed good; the pieces connecting the tank to the base are often the first thing to wear (other than the flushing mechanism). It's what led me to replace two toilets, slow leaks of rusty water....yech....... I did like the price and flushing capability of the American Standard, though......both the ones I have work fine for our needs.
  8. Great stuff! I think the 5th time I've watched the video that coems with the review, never tire of it! But you need to be careful now Tyll, you'll probably end up on a Gangsta Shit (Hit?) List.....
  9. Very cute, Haj! Cats are funny in that "You caught me doing what I shouldn't....buuuuuut, I think I'll just stay here, so don't bother me" kind of way
  10. My wife and I went to a fun even at our temple last night, kind of a Casino-oriented fundraiser. Even though I don't gamble, I caught up with some friends, and had some samples of nice desserts, wines, and got to join in on a nice scotch comparison. On the line to taste: Glennkinchie 12 years old Dalwhinnie 15 Oban 14 (never tried this before, quite "bold" in aroma and taste) Cragganmore 12 Talisker 10 Lagavulin 16 (my favorite of the night) Also got to catch up with a friend I knew from college,. haven't really spent time chatting for about 25 years!
  11. ^^^ I can see this degenerating to toilet humor about the band.....
  12. Have a great one, JP!
  13. ^^^ Now we'll go and have a mild winter! Good find.....and good on the camera too. PM coming your way, we have an old unfinished transaction....MAJOR Homer Simpson "D'oh!" moment!
  14. Late 80's/early 90's quirky art-pop day for me.....two by Shelleyan Orphan, Humroot and Century Flower......love Caroline Crawley!
  15. Interesting pics, and nice news on the recovery. Hope it continues well. I have a friend who went to RI School of Design; he was involved in the design of part of a knee (joint?) replacement process, and he also had some incredible pics of the surgery.....
  16. Loving this! Speedy recovery Shelly! And Wayne, you're like the retail outlets, the Xmas stuff is coming out TOO early Looking great, though!
  17. Happy Birthday Alex!
  18. Good luck Shelly!
  19. Groovy, congrats!
  20. Loved the dance! And happy belated Dinny!
  21. I actually passed by White Plains on Saturday, but unfortunately couldn't stop down; DaveDerek is always trying to be the social coordinator and get me down there. Unfortunately, even though I was close I was under a timetable that wouldn't allow even a drop-in.... Nice pics, and looks like some nice gear too.
  22. I'm just afraid that my face will fall off now......
  23. Agreed with a lot of the above. If I get a price offered that is far enough below my asking, I often reply with something to the effect of "I might do that price, but would prefer to wait [some period of time] to see if I get at or closer to my asking price." More often than not, especially in this case where it's a fairly new ad, the person will come back with a better offer if they are truly interested.
  24. What they all said!
  25. Happy Birthday!
