  1. I think we're all just fans of niking.
  2. x2. Sometimes fast is good, but indeed it can be tiring!
  3. Ha! Thanks! We have a WHOLE lot of "isms" as I'm sure many a family does, but we do come together well for wonderful occasions!
  4. Whoa....RIP Tomita. Was listening to some of his Pictures At An Exhibition last week....
  5. Went to my niece's wedding last night. It had to be moved because the original venue cancelled with <2 months left, but the new place came through in spades! And it helped being closer to us. Many highlights, including seeing some cousins I hadn't seen in years. The new family is a blend of multiple cultures: we're Jewish, my brother married into an Irish family, and my new nephew is African-American. A simple but truly amazing ceremony, and a great party. Perhaps the oddest but greatest highlight: my nephew (bride's youngest brother) playing Hava Nagila for the Jewish Hora dance....on the bagpipes! This morning, we take my mom and Karen's mom back to the same venue for Mother's Day brunch.
  6. Happy birthday Shelly!
  7. Happy Birthday!
  8. Second round shaping up to be intense and pretty nicely competitive. Caps/Pens is getting a bit ugly, hopefully it settles a bit but I still want the Caps to win it. Pens have 3 scary good lines for scoring, though, and their defense has been better than I thought it would be. I think lots of credit to Coach Mike Sullivan is due for their surge.... Blues are looking interestingly good as well. Dallas starting to show their (relatively) weaker defense, but still a fast and exciting team. Don't have a dog in the race for NYI and Tampa Bay, I guess I'd like to Islanders to go ahead because it's been longer for them (and ex-Bruin Johnny Boychuck is there, miss him on the Bruins!). Sadly, I don't se either team beating the winner of Caps/Pens, unless that series causes excessive wear and tear.... Anyway, go AnyoneButPenguins!
  9. Wow, very sad and sudden.....RIP Michelle. And RIP to Phil....reading the Wikipedia entry, saw something I don't see everyday: "...Jewish farm boy from Saskatchewan..."
  10. I usually get up before my wife in the mornings. Go into the bedroom today, she's up and looking a bit down..... "Morning....what's the matter?" "...my toilet's clogged, the wi-fi is down, and even cellular data doesn't work...." Maslow's updated hierarchy rings true....
  11. Happy birthday!
  12. I heart the Sharks as well, even though each series they win makes the Bruins' first round pick worse. Anaheim losing again indeed likely means some changes coming, Boudreau for sure but maybe players too. Hoping the Bruins can do some trades for some better Defensemen, ours pretty much sucked this year, and Ducks have some decent players ready or upcoming. B's have some potentials coming up in prospects, but they still may be a year or so out.
  13. Happy Birthday Ryan, hope it's a great and musical day!

  15. Well-stated Bryan. Next year is another year where the Hawks will need to play some games with personnel to keep under the cap, but they have consistently shown great drafting and development, so their reign at or near the top should continue for sure. I'll admit I wanted to see the Blues go on, if only because Chicago (and LA as well) have won multiple times recently. I just wanted to see someone new, no dislike for either team. At this stage, the only team I DON'T want to go on is Pittsburgh.....hope the Caps eliminate them, but they (the Caps) will need to step up a bit to do so. They let Philly get too close too often in round 1 IMO.
  16. Enjoy Dan! Al, I saw the larger competition @ Clarkson, but didn't have a chance to go in and look further..... Andrew liked Clarkson a lot. Tour guide's greatest quote: "...there are a lot of weird people here....but it's a REALLY GOOD weird....." It's way the fuck in the middle of nowhere though (even though it's close to the aforementioned Mexico, Philadelphia, and Antwerp. And Stockholm, too)
  17. Congrats San Jose! My brain said LA would win, but glad my heart won out on this (even though it means the Bruins' draft pick from SJ is worse now) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  18. Still in NY on college trips, and on the roads from Syracuse to Potsdam (Clarkson), we passed: Mexico Philadelphia Antwerp Seemingly predominant population: sheep, cows, horses. And earlier in the trip, we passed a sign for "Multzes Kill" NY....you are weird. After Clarkson, we go to hippie-land Burlington, Vermont for a UVM visit. Then home..... BTW: anyone ever visiting or near Syracuse NEEDS to go to Dinosaur BBQ. So freaking good! Been years since I've been in TX or other places with great BBQ, this one was awesome!
  19. This, so fucking much....RIP. Also RIP to ex-wrestler Joanie Laurer, aka Chyna. Never saw her, but read some things about her, good and bad (addictions).
  20. Very cool, Al. I didn't know if they would pull it off, but so far so good. Hope they can keep it up, and keep LA off their groove. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  21. Happy Birthday!!
  22. Wow, indeed! Be nice f they can keep it up for the series! And Tom must be happy, Isles over Panthers.
  23. We're travelling Sunday early, too much to do Saturday to prep; can't stand in line with the vinyl hipsters.....
  24. The West has some great matchups! CHI-STL is going to be very interesting. Up until a couple weeks ago I would have said Chicago had only a small chance to make it past the first round. But they've come on very strong. And heck, if my lowly Bruins could beat St. Louis..... I think Anaheim and LA come out of their respective series. I'd LOVE to see the Sharks come out on top, but not sure they can. Kings look pretty strong again this year. Another good matchup though. For the East, want to see the Caps go through everyone. Poor Tampa Bay just got nailed with injuries, and while I love what Florida has done I think they're still a little too young/immature to push through in the playoffs. I hope Pittsburgh chokes as well, just can't bring myself to like them.....but they also came on strong towards the end of the season. For me it sucks that the Bruins aren't in, they choked ugly at the end (though some could say they overachieved to be int he running); but that makes it easier for me to watch the playoffs with less emotion. Go.....various teams!
  25. Happy (I guess officially belated, though it's still the 13th here) Birthday!
