Well...thanks for your impression. Wish they have better source to make them sound better for evaluation. Most entry level's sony has enemic bass and thin sound signature.

Vickie, Sounded like you finally got the proper fit with the Qualia. I remember it took me over 30 mins to play around with Mike's (Mulveling) Qualia until had the right fit. They were absolutely amazing with the right fit. I tried his pair with SACDs and was floored by the sound quality.

Another vote for Amperex PW 7062. I'm using that with great results on both the Exemplar 2900 and 5910.

Sorry to hear about your problem with the tube. Has anyone know the where about of him? I used to be able to reach him on the phone when others can't but no longer can. I also got my SDS checked out and it continues to work fine and sound great (knock on wood).

Another vote for Panasonic Lumix! I've been very pleased with my DMC-FX55 that I got from Fry's at closed out for $119. My wife love her Canon SD800IS as well.

Speaking of Modwright, I would be all over the mod XA5400ES with 6SN7 tubes output if funds permit. Dan Wright is a class act and his stuff sounds wonderful.

I drink a lot of fluid on a daily basis, so likely will need both.
