Riceboy, From my experience, the treble energy on the Cary 306SACD pro and the R10 might be a bit much. When I had the Cary 306 SACD awhile back I thought that it was an excellent sounding source with just a bit too much upper registers. You might want to check out the Exemplar 5910 with the R10 though.

Audiocube II is selling the P1 for $1500 I believe, but pricejapan is around $1500 shipped. Wish the Yen is a lot weaker!

So what was the price earlier from Todd? $1500? The strenght of Yen made the deal from pricejapan as less attractive too.

Yes, it has a tube output stage. The mod is different than the mod inside of the 2900. The Exemplar is the best redbook/SACD player that I have a pleasure of owning. Well, my Kern/Modwright SCD-777ES is now equal thanks to an aftermarket installation of a dedicated super clock PSU. These two units are now noticably better sounding than the Cary 306 SACD that I used to have. BTW, I bought these units used and not new.

Nice with the Dual Dacs. I believe my Exemplar 5910 also feature the same dual dacs.

The price is quite high for an SACDmods units. From my experience with Mod players, the Modwright 999ES and Tyrion Exemplar 2900 should sound even better than this unit. I owned the Statement Mods Sony SCD-C555ES in the past.

I love mine E500 as well. Can't believe something this small can sound so good. I use mine right out of my iRiver IHP140 Roxbox.
