This. Having run plenty of cross-compiled operating systems it is never a good idea and was more headaches than it was worth. It should be said that these hardware platforms are all no longer being made, but still.

Somewhat seriously. Some subs have foam inserts you can use to block the ports off. Look like a cut up pool noodle.... Also, I would be way more nervous about the drivers (even with grills) ... this coming from someone with kids and some dented drivers. In this case I would recommend upgrading to electrostatics, as they offer greater... "deterrent"

A transformer manufacturer?

I use an isolation transformer and it lets the basses through just fine. I need a larger one though.
