My '77 Long Murex has returned from Pilot USA! I couldn't be happier. They not only repaired the small issue with the cap, a very careful restoration was done to the pen, with a conservative polish on worn areas. It doesn't look new, and shouldn't, being a 40 year old used pen, but it looks fantastic, and writes amazingly well. I hadn't noticed that the nib was slightly bent, previously, but it writes like a dream, now. I couldn't ask for a better writing and feeling Japanese fine nib.

I'll have to pick it up.

Weird that this is the best version I own. I played West Side Story so often in youth orchestra that my molars vibrate when I hear it (in a good way, since it's amazing). Bernstein didn't allow people to sing out "Mam-bo!"

There was a guy on Rolex Forums whose dad had a similar bakelite GMT. Dropped it while taking it off to go through security at the airport, and broke the bezel. Poor bugger. He'd been wearing it continuously since 1961, other than having it serviced (it must not have gone to Rolex!).
