  2. I've had Ray's Hellburger, and it's definitely in my top 10, but you have to realize, my favorite is Fuddrucker's, so take that into consideration when dismissing considering my opinion. I do like In-n-Out and Five Guys, too, but...they're still fast-food to me, these ^^ are restaurant burgers, and I sort of use different scales for them, I don't know why (I mean, they're still burgers, right?).
  3. That was brilliant. But now I've got Eno stuck in my head.

    Best Parrot Ever.
  5. Awesome. Still a huge fan, and especially of that album. They (Stripmall Architecture) are going to do a live performance of the entire album with a string section sometime in the spring. I wish I could go.
  6. It's clearly IDM. Anyone on the original Artificial Intelligence series of releases would be considered IDM, I would think.
  7. I run my AKG K271 MkII out of a pico slim at work, and it works just fine.
  8. I am really liking it. It captures the space rock aspect from which Porcupine Tree have drifted away. Especially the three long songs, + I Will Light Up Your Eyes + Wretched Soul + ...oh, hell, the whole thing is excellent.
  9. Ah -- no need to apologize, I was just thinking out loud again.
  10. Oh, I hate that. Wow, flashback.
  11. Wishing the best for Reksy and kitteh. manaox2 -- I got no good advice for you, but just wanted to post and acknowledge and ... I don't know, just show support.
  12. If you can make it out there, I really like the "other" Air & Space museum, Udvar-Hazy. One I haven't been to, but want to, is the Spy Museum. Don't ask me where it is, it's a secret. Of course, if you end up going back, stop by the Baltimore Aquarium on your way.
  13. That's kind of weird. One would think that since it's DIY, one would be able to order another one for you -- if your relationship with him was good, you might have gone through with the sale.
  14. We usually have separate threads for that. E.G. here & here. And yes, I have been known to listen to horribly recorded music, only because the music is so good. I have found the better the system, the easier it is to listen to what is usually otherwise painful. Tubes, especially, seem to make a lot of otherwise intolerable music quite listenable. Euphony FTW.
  15. (straightens throat)
  16. Please, no.
  17. Don't know enough about what happened to make that call -- you want to give us the back story (or point me to it if I missed it)? My co-worked slipped and fell and broke his hip. His main concern (and yours should be, too) was secondary injuries. He did end up having one, but it was not what you think -- he had his finger in the door jamb (for stability) and it closed on it.
  18. If you hate him, get him one of those digital ones. Srsly: I think you should go for one of the e-ink ones: That's pretty high tech for $150. Don't know if you can find it or its equivalent cheaper elsewhere. I think those different panels are configurations, I don't think it cycles through them all like that.
  19. Now I've got Hall & Oates stuck in my head.
  20. I don't think that's how they work -- I think they cancel everything. Oversimplification, but they just invert the effective signal. I think. People with actual experience with noise-canceling headphones should confirm or deny.
  21. an Android Phantom Swiss 5 watch...for my mother. Can't believe I didn't think of this when I posted my query in the watches thread, I actually have one. It'll be perfect -- it's extremely thin and light, yet durable, with a large, easily legible face.
  22. So my mom mentioned that she keeps breaking her watches, but I happen to know that most of her watches are on the cheap side. I know something like the Nixon 51-30 would be sufficiently indestructible for her, but probably way too heavy. Anyone know of a high quality, large faced, yet lightweight, analog watch? Doesn't have to be "Dusty-approved low-contrast", in fact quite the opposite, traditional black on white would be good. Also doesn't have to be a "lady's" watch. I'm thinking ceramic, but that's getting outside of what I can afford (she won't want me to have spent too much on her, she threw a cow when I got her a $100 Philips microstereo).
  23. Pineapple Thief, 3000 Days -- dreamy proggy pop.
